Why did moving schools have to be so stressful? Like why does the brain decide to just say 'oh new school? How about a panic attack for your first day!' Sometimes I really hated my brain.

I got out of my moms car and walked down the concrete walkway leading up to the front doors of the school. To the sides of the wide walkway were big grass lawns where students sat and talked. There were a few trees every few yards. There were benches and tables scattered around the building. The school itself was a large brick building with windows every few feet. The school had at least 3 stories and probably a basement too. It looked like any other school I've ever went to. Why was I so nervous?

My insides did cartwheels and tumbles. My palms were sweaty and my hands were shaking a bit.
Calm down Annabeth. It's just a school. Just like any other you've gone to.
I walked inside the building and went to the office. They gave me my schedule and a directory of the school.
Today was going to be so fun wasn't it?

I made it through my first 3 classes and lunch without a bother. No one noticed me or even talked to me.

I walked into my 4th period hoping it would go just like that. I sat down in the back next to a girl with choppy brown hair and colorful eyes. She looked pretty but dressed like she didnt care too much about her appearance. She probably down played how pretty she was.
I stared at the front of the room hoping she wouldn't talk to me.
"Hey." I felt her nudge my arm. I turned and she looked at me with a confused expression. "Are you new here? I don't recognize you from last year."

"Yeah I'm new."
"Cool. I'm Piper."
"Annabeth." I stared at the ground.
"So where'd you move here from?"
"California."
"Oh cool. I lived there as a kid. I moved here my freshman year." She smiled. "I know how tough being the new kid can be. You don't need to be nervous."
"Was it that obvious?"
"Yeah kind of. Hey do you know where all your classes are?"
"Not exactly." I dug around my pocket looking for the directory. I couldn't find it. "I had a directory I guess I lost it."

"Hey that's fine. I can just show you where your classes are. Sometime I can maybe show you where all the good hangouts are."
"That'd be great." I smiled at her.

The rest of the day I spent with piper. She introduced her friends to me. I couldn't remember all of their names. Leo? Jason? I didn't really pay attention.
I walked out of the school at the end of the day not really rushing to get home. I turned the corner and ran into someone.

"Oh my gosh I'm sorry." I looked up at who it was. It was a boy with raven black hair and sea green eyes with spots of turquoise. He wore a baggy hoodie and jeans. He held a skateboard in his hand.
"Uh it's ok." He looked down at me and his cheeks got bright red. "Oh shoot I'm sorry."
"Its fine."
"Are you new here?"
"Yeah I just moved here."
"Cool. So did I. I'm Percy. Nice to meet you."
