The next few weeks went by quickly. I spent most days with Piper and her friends. By now I had memorized all my classes and even all the hangout spots around the school. We joked around a lot in our classes. I had learned that the guy named Jason was her boyfriend and the guy Leo was her best friend since she had moved here. All of them were cool and I like hanging out with them but most of the time I hung out with Percy.
We hit it off after meeting. I learned a lot about him. He liked swimming and his favorite color was blue. He liked to skateboard a lot. He brought his board to school almost everyday. He made me laugh a lot and put me in a good mood every time I was around him. I slowly started to realize I might have a crush on him. Just a tiny tiny little crush on him. I mean I'd only known him for a couple of weeks.
"So Annabeth why'd your mom move you up here?" He smiled at me from across the table."Uh I don't know my mom just wanted a new start I guess. She didn't like being in the same place as my Dad and his new wife."
"Why not? Is there something wrong with them?"
"Well for starters my dad definitely loved his new family more than me. Whenever I stayed with them my step mom would treat me badly. She despised me. She'd even call me a 'little spoiled rat' when my dad wasn't around.""I'm sorry." He looked at me sympathetically.
"So why'd your parents move you here?"
His face became strained and he looked away. "Its just me and my dad. My mom . . . She um passed away a few years ago."
"Oh my gosh. I'm so sorry-"
"Don't be. It's fine." He half smiled at me. "To answer your question my dad moved here cuz he was offered a job. My uncle also lives here."
"Is your uncle nice?"
"He's a complete ass if I do say so myself." He smirked at me and I laughed."He cheated on his wife once or twice." He started to laugh. I covered my mouth to suppress my laugh.
"Lucky woman." I smirked at him.
"Eh his wife is kind of an ass too." We both laughed loud enough for another table to hear and look at us weird.
I looked at his wavy black hair. It was messy in a cute kind of way. His eyes lit up everytime he laughed. It's more than likely that it was bigger than just a tiny tiny little crush.
"Annabeth?" His voice snapped me out of my gaze.
"Yeah?""Why were you staring at me?"
"Oh um-" The bell rang cutting me off. Perfect timing. I stood and got my things together for my next class. I glanced at him and he had a confused expression on his face. "Its nothing." I smiled at him and went to class.
