【A L V I N】

"So do you have feelings for him or not?" Rowan questioned, raising just one of their brows.

"I mean.. I don't really know," I began, scratching the back of my neck awkwardly. "Last night when I was with him, I felt those stupid butterflies that you and Antonio always talk about."

"No way," Antonio insisted. "Was it the first time?"

"I think it's been there ever since he took me ice skating to be honest," I admitted shyly. "It was just a little more subtle then so I never really noticed. But last night, it was a little different."

"So you like him," Delilah noted with a nod of approval. "I think you guys would make an adorable couple, in all honesty. Imagine dating your neighbour, I could never be that lucky."

Margot shot her a quick glare, "What's that supposed to mean? You're lucky enough to be dating someone as awesome as me. I'm one in a million."

"One idiot in a million," I responded with a smug grin before earning a hard smack to the head after which I simply let out a hiss whilst rubbing the area which she had abused. "I didn't deserve that."

"Yes you did, but go off I guess," Rowan retorted before moving onto their knees. "Anyway, has he shown signs of liking you back?"

"I don't know, he behaves normally around me," I sighed. "Isn't it too soon, though? I've only known him for a month now. I feel like I jumped into it too quick."

"I fell for Rowan a second after looking at them," Antonio interrupted. "Love at first sight."

"You mean you fell for them because of their appearance?" Margot questioned with the slight tilt of her head. "Alright, got it."

"That's not what I meant!" he insisted, tossing a pillow over at Margot which she caught effortlessly with a triumphant expression on her face, "So you don't think they look good? Is that it?"

"Stop twisting my words before I twist your spine," he threatened.

"That sounds quite wrong," she remarked.

"Both of you shut the fuck up before I twist your nipples," Rowan interrupted, crossing their arms across their chest. "Anyway, Alvin. I actually brought something."

"What is it?" I urged and watched as they reached for their bag and pulled out a box of cookies.

"This. I brought it for us but now that I've heard your mini rant, I think you should try giving it to Lucien instead. Make a move, you know?" they suggested, wiggling their eyebrows teasingly.

"Wait, for real?" I questioned, surprised.

"You don't have to if you don't want to," they said with a nonchalant shrug.

"Oh, he definitely doesn't want to," Antonio interrupted before I could even let a word out. "We can all just binge on it right now."

"Those look so good," Margot commented, her mouth practically watering. "But they'd look better in my stomach."

"Guys don't be disrespectful," Delilah interrupted with a subtle glare. "Rowan, I think that's really nice of you. Alvin, you should try giving those to him. I think he'd really appreciate it. Who's with me?"

"Not me," Margot and Antonio chanted in unison.

"Nobody cares what you guys think," Rowan said with an eye-roll before handing me the box of cookies. "Go get your man, tiger."

"Right now?" I questioned stupidly.

"No, dumbass," they scoffed. "Today is horror story day, I'm not letting you miss out on the story I prepared for today. It's going to scare the wits out of you, trust me."

"I've been waiting for horror story day," Delilah squealed excitedly. "Feels like forever since we last had it."

Horror story day was something that happened once every month in our friend group. Basically, we'd take turns telling each other the scariest stories we'd read on the internet. As childish as it sounds, it was quite fun - and all of us always had trouble falling asleep after that.

"Okay, are you guys ready?" Rowan questioned eagerly, rubbing their hands together - an action which reflected their excitement.

"Sure, I guess," Margot shrugged. "Go for it."

"Okay. So, once upon a time-"

"Uh-oh, they started it with the classic 'once upon a time' line. Now you know it isn't going to be scary," I yawned.

"Shut up and listen," they warned. "Like I was saying - once upon a time, there was a family living in a little cottage. One day, they noticed that their items were going missing. We're talking jewelry, books, handbags, expensive clothing items. Then, they started noticing that the food in the kitchen was running out really quickly as well - they tried to figure out the reason behind it, but nothing helped. And thus, it led to the family members being suspicious of each other."

"I already know where this is going," Delilah complained with a pout after which she got shushed by Rowan who was too far gone into their story.

"Anyway, so one day, the eldest daughter of the family was asleep when she heard something moving around in her room. As terrified as she was, she attempted to search for the source of the sound - and then she looked into her vent. And guess what she saw? A pair of eyes staring right back at her!"

Silence.

All of us just stared at them in silence.

We didn't even blink or give them a distasteful look or notify them that that story was nowhere near scary and fit more into the comedic spectrum, when I noticed something out of the corner of my eye.

"COCKROACH!"

All of us screamed.
