"Virgil, you need to relax, we are fine." Yeah, the hooded boy thinks, we are fine. See nothing bad, I was just overreacting.
Something flashes in the distance.
It's too late.
BANG
BANG
BANG
Crying, screaming, red, red everywhere.
"A-Anxiety?"
He looked at the terrified voice.
"Thomas, I'm sorry, please. Thomas I'm so s-sorry."
Not again, the anxious side wakes up, uncurling himself from the tangled ebony sheets cascading down the edge of the bed.
He reaches a hand up to his face wiping away delicate tear tracks the nightmare had left in their wake. I've been a bawling, shaking mess since that day, I've had nightmares every night since then and being the literal embodiment of anxiety I see all the possible ways it could've gone worse. I need to get a hold of myself. He hears a low grumbling come from his stomach, he hadn't left his room for almost three weeks. The other sides are trying to help Thomas settle down form yet another panic attack he had caused in his sleep.
His stomach growls again. He slowly pulls himself from the warm messy bed and moves to check himself in the mirror hanging over the small desk in the corner. He can't let the others see him like this. Hair is greasy and matted, eyes red from crying, the bags under them almost as dark as his walls, and he was still trembling from the "dream" he had. He does his best to fix himself up some, brushing his hair, some white foundation, he doesn't even need the eye shadow, his bags are bad enough to show right through the foundation.
Slowly he makes his way to the kitchen. As he shuffles down the long halls he checks his phone and sees that it's 2 in the morning. He let's out a small groan and continues walking.
He finally stumbles into the kitchen and notices some leftover cookies and sandwiches on the counter. He has a feeling Patton may have done that on purpose. He grabs a plate and excitedly fills it with a few cookies and a sandwich. He's about to retreat back to his room when Logan blocks the way out, hatred coming off him in waves.
"Anxiety how could you do this to Thomas!" he glares at the younger side. "You are one of his personalities our one goal is to protect him but it seems as though all you do is cause him to suffer! You insufferable, pathetic, useless, Freak!" Virgil flinches back at the harshness in the elders voice. Logan continues, unfazed. "You don't belong here and you never will. You are a dark side! You should just go off yourself because I know we would be better off if you had never existed at all!" Logan screams Virgil just look down and nod, agreeing with everything he says, I am a useless, pathetic, freak that Thomas would be better off without.
"As usual Logan you're right." He monotones, tears threaten to spill once more. Logan moves forward raising his hand and slaps him, hard enough to make the younger fall to the ground.
"Shut up, you need to pay for what you've done to him." he pulls the anxious side up and drags him by the arm to his room.
------2 hours later-------
He quickly shuffles out of Logan's room and painfully starts to limp towards his own. He doesn't get far when he bumps into someone. He falls back landing straight on his rear end with a pained yelp. He glares up at the person who bumped into him but is met by a hand, he followd it up to neat white sleeve, then a red satin sash, then a gentle smile.
"Are you okay my chemically unbalanced romance?" Prince inquired... worried? No, couldn't be, probably just trying to keep up his princely persona. Yeah, why would princey be worried about me? He hates me.
"I'm fine princey." He grits, wincing as he tries to get up without the fanciful sides help. He watches with a sad look in his eyes that disappears rather quickly.
"Okay, sorry, bye bye Verge." He chirps happily as he walks away in his normal cheerful mood. Virgil resumes his trek to his room and just hopes he doesn't have another nightmare when he goes back to bed.
