I met Richelle and Summer in the secret place, which is actually just a big overgrown oak tree on our school field. I couldn't believe I was actually going to run away. And by myself as well. This surely couldn't be safe for a 16 year old girl to be doing. Here was the plan. I'd tell Dad and Michelle I was going to the library to study, and I'd get to the train station. Get the train to the airport and fly to New York, where Mom's apartment was. If they asked about the unusually large bag I was carrying, I say just in case I found some study books I really liked. If Piper and Amy saw me, I'd be toast. They tell my dad and Michelle what I was up to, and they probably shred my passport. Did I think it was a good idea? No. Did I think it was safe to do it alone? Defiantly not. Unless... I didn't have to do it alone. Richelle and Summer could come with me. I'd have to ask them, obviously, but they're my best friends, so I was sure it would be a yes. "...And then you can take this bus, it's way quicker," Summer told me, pointing at the map. "Jacquie? You ok?" She asked.
" Girls, how would you feel about coming with me. To New York, " I blurted out. Oh no. They looked stunned. They were speechless. Then Richelle gave me a big nod.
"Yes! I've always wanted to go the big city! It's time I shop till I drop!" She squealed. We then both looked at Summer. " Well, I have always wanted to go for stroll in Central Park, so I guess... I'm in! " She said, and we all had a big group hug. Finally, things were going to plan. Or so I thought...
