Lukas Rosenbauer's POV
"Honey, we're going to fly to Illinois in five days. Are you excited to tend your garden?"
I ask my wife as we eat our breakfast.
"Yeah. I hope the flowers are still in full bloom." She says happily.
"Babe, I'm leaving now. When you feel dizzy and you can't endure it call me OK? I'll be here in short."
I told her and kiss her.
"Yeah. Don't worry babe I'm sort of used to it."
"Just drink water and rest and sleep."
She hugs me and says. "Yeah. Drive safe always. I love you babe."
She is so sweet.
"Yeah. I love you baby." I place a final kiss on her forehead and leaves.
"Sir coffee." Monique places a cup of coffee on my desk as she saw me arrived in the office. She lets me sit and sip the coffee before she speaks.
"Thanks."
"Sir how's Ma'am Andrea? Tell her I miss her."
She inquires. She really likes my wife.
"She's doing OK. She feels dizzy a lot. My wife is pregnant." I told her while I'm flipping some papers on my table.
"Oh really Sir? I want to see her Sir."
I look at her seems it is a good idea. I'll let her fetch with my driver and visit me here.
"OK. I'll try if she can come here."
"Yes! Thank you so much Sir Lukas!" Her eyes are glittering with joy.
I just smile at her.
"So, Sir bad news." She started. "Sir our senior accountant filed a five-day leave. We need our company's financial report in three days to be presented to the board and Sir sadly she's not able to make it. Sir note that the financial statement should be checked first with Senior Rosenbauer."
I place the papers that I'm holding down on my table when I heard that. Why today? What will I do?
"Didn't she finish her work before she leaves?"
"Sir no. She said that it is an urgent family affair. We need the financial report for this quarter. First quarter is done Sir which is already presented to the board."
I pinch the bridge of my nose. This is giving me headaches.
"How about our junior accountants, can they do that?"
"Sir the only thing that they can do are the supporting papers but the final report is done by our senior accountant, she is the only one who knows how to come up with the final one."
I know nothing about preparing that financial report typically it is reaching my office done.
Dad, what will I do?
"OK. We will make a way." That's the only thing that I can tell her.
"Excuse me Sir." She bows her head and leaves.
This is what Dad is telling me. I've been a CEO for years but I just found out that I should also know how to prepare this. Cases like these should be foreseen, that an employee can file a leave in no time.
Ugh. She left us hanging. I rest my head on the swivel chair and stare at the ceiling.
I decided to call my wife. I need to hear her voice, it calms me.
"Babe!" She says on the other line, this made me smile.
"Honey, I miss you."
"Hmm? You just leave the house. I miss you too babe."
