I decided that I would wait until after dinner to change my clothing into something a little bit more comfortable. To look halfway decent for my first impression of Mr. Margera, I kept my dark colored outfit on. I brushed my hair for probably the third time today but whatever, I also touched up my makeup a bit. Just to kill a little bit of time I grabbed my tooth brush out of my bag and made my way to the bathroom that was conveniently connected to my room. My bare feet turned icy as I stepped onto the cold tile floor and flipped on the light switch. This is the first time I have been in here and it was quite nice, if I may say, the only downfall was that there was another door in the small room that led to another bedroom. I crossed my fingers that it was an unused guest room because the thought of living with strange males sent chills up my spine. Call me paranoid but every time I see a guy, the first thing that pops into my mind is the brutality and pain that I was forced to endure after my parent's tragic death. My entire body quivered at the thought and I grabbed the tooth paste and began scrubbing my teeth. Before I knew it, I was spitting up blood from scrubbing my gums roughly and not paying attention. I rinsed the sink and my tooth brush off, wiping my mouth and neatly folding the hand towel back in it's original place. I steadied myself on the porcelain vanity and looked myself square in the eye. I never thought of myself as a pretty girl, 6 years of derogatory comments can really do a number on a girl's self esteem. I never liked the color of my ice blue eyes, the ordinary color of light brown, the uneven puffiness in my lower lip. I've always thought my curves were nonexistent and I was altogether unhappy with my body. Derek has told me more times than I would care to mention that I am a fat whore to the point where I began to believe him. I continued to stare at myself in the mirror, emphasizing every imperfection on my face and on my body in general. Suddenly I heard April call me down for dinner, snapping me out of my staring match with my reflection, I let out a long sigh and made my way downstairs. April had made delicious looking lasagna and had laid all of it out on the deep mahogany dining table. There were three plates set out along with silver ware, napkins, and water in tall rounded glasses. A heavy set man was seated at the head of the long table, reading multiple unrecognizable files in manila folders. As I approached the table, April appeared from around the corner.
"Hello! Please, Sam, take a seat and dig in! Phil this is Sam" April announced while she introduced me to her husband. I extended my hand and displayed a warm smile on my face.
"Hello Mr. Margera it is very nice to finally meet you!" I said, not completely meaning what I had said. Phil took my hand in his, shaking it firmly.
"Please, call me Phil, it is very nice to meet you too! I have heard a lot about you!" Phil said with genuine hospitality.
"All good I hope!" I replied with my smile remaining, I gently sat down where April had gestured.
"Oh yes, of course" Phil said with a slight, airy laugh. April started a conversation with Phil about his day, dropping me in there every once in a while so I would'nt feel awkward or left out. I kept a friendly smile on my face as both Phil and April made me feel welcome as they are both very nice and hospitable people. All of us laughed and enjoyed the delicious food that April had prepared. Once we had all finished, I swiftly hopped up, thanking April for dinner and began gathering the plates.
"Oh no, sweetheart! I've got this!" April said whilst taking the dishes out of my hands.
"At least let me help, I insist." I said politely. April replied with a playful sigh and a small smile. I gave her a warm smile in return and began to gather the rest of the dishes again, following April into the kitchen. April began to wash them and as she would finish, I would dry them and ask where to put them in the kitchen until I got the hang of it. Once everything was cleaned and put away, April asked me if I would like to have some ice cream.
"Oh no thank you!" I replied.
"Are you sure? You could use a little meat on your bones" April said with a bright smile. The comment made me feel better about my appearance for about two seconds, making me think twice about what I would be doing in a couple of hours.
"I think I'll have to pass but thanks again!" I assured her with a small laugh.
"Suit yourself" She said jokingly as we both laughed a bit. It was getting late as I noticed it was mostly dark outside.
"I will have to excuse myself, but I think I'm going to head to bed! Thank you so much for everything, April." I said, growing progressively tired.
"Oh no problem, I will see you bright and early in the morning! I usually head to work at about 6:30 you can just catch a ride with me! Goodnight, sweetheart! Make yourself at home." April informed me.
"Okay!" I replied, "Goodnight!" I walked around the corner to where Phil was still seated. "Goodnight Phil! It was very nice to meet you!" I told him.
"Goodnight Sam, it was very nice to meet you as well." Phil told me, bringing a smile to his scruffy face. I made my way up the stairs and into the room I was staying in, closing the door behind me. I let out a sigh when I realized I had still not unpacked. I made my way over to my luggage and grabbed some comfortable pajamas, making my way to the bathroom. I looked around for a few seconds for a towel and wash cloth until I found them both on a small rack near the sink. Closing the door, I turned the shower up as hot as it could go, causing large clouds of steam to bellow up towards the ceiling. The mirror immediately began to fog up as I stared at the toilet for a good five minutes at the least. Before undressing I slowly knelt down in front of the porcelain bowl and opened the lid. I emptied the contents of my stomach into the toilet, flushing it immediately. I always felt horrible after I did it yet at the same time, it made me feel better about my figure and myself as a whole. I wiped my mouth as I undressed and hopped into the scorching shower, turning the water temperature down a little bit so I could stand it. I felt the warm water run down my back, along my spine, soothing me. Washing me clean of everything that has happened today, only to remain in my deep subconscious. Meeting Phil seemed to put a very small amount of my anxiety to rest, only causing it to flare back up once I thought of the other three younger males that would live under the same roof as me. Horrible thoughts raced through my head of the possibilities, I only wish that those could wash down the drain as well.
Once I had finished my shower, I dried off wrapping the towel around my head like a turban. I slipped on my clean underwear and pajamas, brushing my teeth once more along with gargling some Listerine mouth wash which made my mouth and lips tingle. Opening the bathroom door made cold air engulf my warm body, making a chill run through me. Making my way over to the king sized bed, a loud noise startled me causing me to jump and my heart to race. The loud noise was followed by an obnoxious, male yelling things I couldn't quite make out. The loud crashing continued as the first thing that came into my mind was Derek. Derek had found me somehow and has came to take me back to Sweetwater or maybe just beat me to death right here and now. Tears sprung into my eyes as a panic attack washed over me, making my hyperventilate and drop to the hard wood floor. There was no sense in running, I have tried that but the only thing he does is find me and beat me harder than ever. I scrambled back, dropping the towel somewhere along the way, letting out small screams every time a loud crash was heard. The crashes where getting louder and closer every minute. He was going to find me. Derek is going to storm into my room any minute with his fists flying. I curled myself into a ball, trying to make myself as small as humanly possible. I should find a place to hide but there was no sense in hiding the only thing I need to be thinking of at the moment is things to say that will make Derek spare my life. The crashes where right outside my door now and I squeezed my knees to my chest tighter and tighter until I couldn't breath. I was crying hysterically know, waiting for the door to fly open and my worst nightmare to barrel in. The heavy door flew open and the only thing I did was let out a small scream and clench my eyes as tight as they would go while waiting for the pain to come.
