Alaska

Tired, I leaned back on the small flowered couch and pulled my legs up to my chest. In front of me, the others conversed as the bus traveled down the interstate.

"Considering we're lazy fucks that have yet to decide what their playlists are going to be, what songs are we preforming tomorrow once everything is set up?" Eli asked as he shuffled the deck of cards.

Across from me, sitting at the small booth table in the tour bus, was my bassist, guitarist, and drummer all getting ready to play a game of poker. Considering we still had another two and a half hours before we arrived at the first Warped Tour designation, everyone was trying their best to get their relaxation in before hand.

"I don't know. Ask Alaska. What do you think?" Kyler turned his attention to me. Snapping out of my slight day dream, I looked to where Kyler was opening a bag of chips beside Jordan. I thought for a minute.

"I don't really care. I guess we can do the songs from our first EP LA Daydream and the second day, we can use the second EP we did, We're Forbidden, Miss Trey. That's about 5 songs each. We can make the other set lists later, but for the first two shows, we'll use those," I sighed.

"You good, Laska? You seem quieter than usual today, and usually, you're more excited about what songs we play," Eli gave me a look.

I shrugged before nodding a bit.
"I'm fine, just a little tired today. I was up all night messing with riffs to go with the chorus of Disaster combined with finishing up the lyrics to it as well." I paused for a moment. "On top of that, we have a long two months ahead of us, too."

The boys all shook their heads in understandment.

"That we do. Luckily, we have a bus this time around instead of Jordan's mom's van." Kyler bumped shoulders with Jordan.

"Hey. I'll have you know that Precious was the best thing that ever happened to this band," the drummer raised his chin in defiance, jokingly.

"Am I right, though? Admit it. The bus is better. At least we actually have a bathroom for once." The bassist made a hand movement towards the small half bath in the hall.

"It's not my fault your dumbass fell on a cactus while trying to take a shit in the middle of nowhere." Kyler shivered at the memory as Jordan spoke.

"We don't talk about that," he grumbled behind his fall of raven hair. Lighting up a cigarette, he leaned back in the booth.

"Anyways..." Eli drawled, dealing out the cards. "Are we going to preform any of our new songs or are we going to stick with the older ones?"

Before I had the chance to respond, a feminine voice started speaking from the back.

"What I would say to do, is to pick two songs off of the new album and drop those to raise excitement for Your Tragedy Is Misplaced." Violet walked out of the bunk section and sat down on the counter top that lined the 'kitchen area'. "Since YTIM will be released right after Warped, both Mystic Records and I think it would a good idea to give the fans a preview of what's to come."

I chewed on my bottom lip, my lip ring tugging at my skin. That was right. As soon as Warped ended, our second album Your Tragedy Is Misplaced would drop and then after a few months, we would go on tour to support another band and show off the album.

"Yeah, I guess you're right, Vi. Now the question is what two songs do we choose?" I asked as a flash of black and blond hair caught my attention. Breena came out of the bunks and sat down beside me, before curling into my arms. Kissing the top of my girlfriend's head, I listened as she began to add in her thoughts to the mix.

"Considering that Motionless In White is one of the bands playing main stage, I would suggest using Horror Queen or Torture off of it. A lot of the people coming are fans of theirs and Horror Queen is similar to MIW's style so they would probably like it."

Violet snapped her fingers and made a gun shape towards Breena. "You got a smart girlfriend there, Lask. That's actually a really good idea. We'll use that song and we can also use Torture since it's very theatrical and In This Moment is also playing main stage so it would also attract people who are fans of Maria's music."

I nodded. "I know I do. That's why I keep her around," I smiled down at the girl in my arms. "So it's settled. We'll release Horror Queen and Torture."

"Yep," Violet popped the 'p' as she opened a drink.

"Now that all of that is resolved, can we please get back to our game?" Eli waved his hand of cards dramatically.

I chuckled quietly as the others laughed. "Yes. You can play your game now."
