Moonlight (A Harry Potter fanfic)

Friends again?

Ron ran through the halls in search of Evelyn. He yelled her name.
"Evelyn!" He shouted. He ran until he heard a noise. A whimpering noise. He stopped abruptly.
"Evelyn?" He said more quietly.
"Go away" Evelyn said.
Ron looked behind the statue they slept behind before. She was there, crying.
"Evelyn. Can I just talk for a moment?" He asked nicely.
"You knew I liked you Ron. Why would you go out with another girl. Especially her!?"
"Then why did you tell me you didn't want to see me ever again?" Ron asked louder now.

"You don't understand. It's not that I didn't I want to be with you. It's that I couldn't. Things happened that night that I can't tell you. And I'm so sorry." She sounded sincere. "I was only protecting you."
"You don't need to look after me." Ron said, "whatever happened that night, it already happened and we're both okay. So what do you say, can we give it another chance?"
She seemed deep in thought for a while then said, "let's take it slow. We can be friends again."
Ron smiled. "That sounds good... You look amazing by the way. Would you like to go back to the dance and dance with me. As friends?"
She smiled this time and held up her hand. "Yes I would like to... But what about Pam?"
"She'll be fine. I'm sure she's already dancing with someone else." Ron said as he helped her up.

So they went to the dance together. They didn't see Pamela again. She must've left. Harry and Hermione looked at Ron and Evelyn with approval and we're happy he fixed things with her. The rest of the dance was fun and they had a good night.
Now that things were fixed between them, Ron's heart felt lighter and warmer.
