Touya didn't see him for a few days after what happened.
Everyday that he went to school, he had hope in his heart that he would see his friend, so the he could apologize. But each day that Tomura wasn't there, he felt worse and worse.
He had no idea why he made him cry, or even if it was his fault at all.
After awhile, Tomura showed up. He saw him, his shaggy black hair and baggy clothes, standing in doorway of the classroom. Their eyes locked for a second before Tomura looked away awkwardly. He noticed that he was still wearing the black gloves on his hands.
'Don't ask about it'
He knew that somehow the gloves were a sensitive topic, judging on how he reacted to being asked.
Slowly, Tomura made his way to his seat next to Touya. Setting his books down, he slid in the chair and stared straight forward. Touya opened his mouth to say something, but he couldn't find the words.
'Say you're sorry'
He couldn't bring himself to say it though, what was he sorry for? Was he supposed to be sorry? He wasn't even sure what had happened.
"Okay class, I'm passing out a worksheet" Their teacher announced, "If you need any help, work with your neighbor".
The worksheet was placed in front of him, it was math, something Touya always struggled with. He glanced at Tomura and saw that he was already working on it. He had to say something.
Touya squirmed in his seat uncomfortably before asking, "Can you help me?", Tomura looked at him and bit his lip.
"Sure, I guess" He shrugged. The nervous pit in his stomach eased up a little knowing that he didn't completely hate him.
"What do you need help with?" He questioned looking him straight in the eyes.
"I'm not good at math" Touya sighed, "How do you multiply?".
Tomura gave him a small smile and leaned close into him to reach his paper. Touya wasn't really listening to him, rather paying attention to how close he was to him. A fuzzy feeling swept over him when he realized that Tomura smelled really nice, like clean sheets.
"Do you get it now?" He asked looking at him once again. Touya nodded, even if he really didn't.
They went back to being silent with each other but now it was more of a comfortable silence. Like they knew that there was no bad feelings towards the other.
Class lasted a few hours, and finally they were allowed their short break for the day. Most kids would go play on the slides or swings, some would go for a game of kickball. Touya decided instead of joining his classmates he would follow Tomura, curious as to what he likes to do during break.
He was a little surprised when the other plopped down onto the grass crossing his legs in the process. Tomura didn't seem to notice him at first, too busy pulling the grass out of the ground.
"Can I sit with you?" He spoke up carefully. The other turned towards him, squinting at the sun in his eyes.
"Okay".
Touya gladly sat in front of him crossing his legs also. Tomura didn't seem bothered by his presence nor did he seem to care since he kept picking at the grass.
"You don't want to come play?" Touya asked curiously. He seemed to be uncomfortable with the question as he didn't answer.
He figured it was best to drop it, so he thought of anything to talk about.
"What's your favorite color?" He inquired. It wasn't really a meaningful question, but it was the first thing that came to mind.
Tomura knitted his brows and pondered on it, "Light blue".
"I like blue, too" Touya smiled widely earning a slight smile back.
They both sat and took turns asking each other questions, like their favorite animals or what kinds of food is the best.
A very good question came to mind and Touya figured he had to know the answer, "Do you have a quirk?".
Tomura flinched and for a second Touya thought he messed up again, but a small no came from his mouth.
"That's okay" Touya comforted him, "Quirks are stupid anyways" He spat. He would give anything to be like Tomura, without a quirk, then he would have never had to go through absolute hell.
"You don't have one either?" He chimed up causing Touya to snap out of his dark thoughts.
"I have one" He confessed, "You wanna see?".
Tomura smiled and nodded excitedly. He took his hand and shoved it between them, opening his palm to show a small blue flame. Looking at his reaction, Tomura seemed mesmerized by it.
"Promise not to tell on me?".
"I promise" Tomura agreed.
The bond between them only got stronger the more they spent time with each other, Touya knew almost nothing about his friend but still found comfort in his presence. Tomura didn't seem to mind the company either.
"I think you're my best friend" Touya blurted out, then felt nervous about the sudden confession. Tomura seemed surprised, but smiled anyways.
"Okay" He agreed, "I like being your best friend".
A/N: Hello to whoever is reading! This chapter was extremely hard to write as I wasn't sure what direction I wanted to go after last chapter. I had a lot of different ideas but this was the end result. Also as a heads up, this story will probably have a lot of timeskips since this is a childhood friends to lovers fic. Also this will be rated mature for future chapters I have in mind. I really hope that this chapter wasn't a disappointment since I wasn't entirely happy with it. But anyways thanks for reading :)
