After that day, it was basically official, Touya was Tomura's best friend and maybe only friend. Even though they were seperated in the 5th grade, their bond never weakened. They would find each other at lunch or break and things would be like they always were.
Luckily, they got a few classes together in middle school. They enjoyed being able to spend more time with the other. When they were together, they never left each other's side, almost as if they were stuck together.
Tomura took pride in being an honest person. He always told the truth because lies only got him in trouble. One time he broke Touya's favorite toy car, but instead of hiding it, he went straight to him and told the truth.
There was only one time he lied to his best friend. He told him he didn't possess a quirk. He figured it didn't really matter at the time, he didn't want to talk about the memories, but now he was drowning in his own lie. Touya's curiosity about his gloves never ceased and he couldn't bring himself to tell the truth.
They are in 8th grade and his lie was only growing bigger. It was starting to get suspicious why he freaks out over touching people with his hands. Touya respected his boundaries, but he knew that one day he would have to tell him the truth.
It was first period, and Tomura could see him in the hallway from where he was sitting. Touya was laughing with a group of guys that he wasn't familiar with. His heart hurt because he wanted so badly to make new friends. Touya made it seem so easy.
His mood lifted when the bell rang and the group separated, leaving Touya to come into the classroom. Of course they sat next to each other, they wouldn't have it any other way.
"Sup" He greeted taking his seat next to Tomura.
He rolled his eyes, "Who even says that anymore".
Touya pouted and laid his head down on the desk looking straight at Tomura, "Aww, someone's in a bad mood" He taunted playfully.
"You're too energetic this morning" Tomura sighed.
He shivered a bit. They sit right underneath the air conditioner, so it's always colder than usual. He just wished he brought a jacket.
"You're cold" Touya stated like it were the most obvious thing ever. He rubbed his hands on his arms to warm up, not that it helped much.
"Take it" A black hoodie was shoved towards him and he grabbed it, careful not to make contact with Touya.
"Idiot" He muttered, "Now you're cold".
Touya shrugged and leaned back into his seat, "I don't mind, anyways you looked like you needed it more than I do".
Tomura didn't fight him anymore about it. He slipped the hoodie over his head and smoothed it down. Something about wearing his hoodie made him a bit flustered, but he shook it away.
Unconsciously, he started picking and scaratching at his skin. It was a bad habit of his, along with chewing the skin of his lip.
"Stop it" Touya sat up looking concerned. He looked almost worried, but he should be used to it by now. Tomura never snaps at his weird habits.
"Sorry" He whispered, but after that he felt his eyes on him. It was frustrating because he wasn't a baby who needed looking after. Touya was always just looking out for him like that, even when they were kids.
He decided instead to pick at the loose thread on his pants, not wanting to hear Touya scold him.
Class felt longer than usual, but once the bell rang, he felt himself get sad. They wouldn't see each other until lunch. Tomura stood from his seat and began to walk away when he heard the other shouting for him, "Wait up!".
He stopped and turned, looking at him confused.
"Wanna come over today?" Touya smiled. His dad wouldn't mind, he hasn't seen him in quite awhile.
"Sure" Tomura agreed, "See you on the bus".
"Hey save me a seat" Touya called out as he ran out of the classroom. Tomura felt giddy that he wouldn't have to spend his time alone. He couldn't go to his friend's house very often, his dad was strict, the only time he could was when Touya's dad was off on hero duty.
Suddenly, school didn't feel as bad. All he could think about was what he would do when they were together. Usually, they would play video games or chill and watch TV. No matter what they did, he just enjoyed the time they spend together.
For the first time, in a long time, Tomura felt excited.
A/N: This chapter is a bit short but it's mostly just to help set up for the next chapter which will be much longer. The next chapter might take a while to write because I have to go to the doctor so I'll be a bit busy until next week. See you soon :)
