I woke up this morning to the sound of Hooty hollering something about it being Friday. I don't know why he was excited for it, considering he literally has no freedom to do anything. Maybe he was just excited that no one had to be anywhere during the weekend. Whatever it was, I didn't actually give a shit. I put on the same clothes that I wear everyday to school. After that, I went into the bathroom and lazily combed through my short hair.

"Luz, are you getting ready?!"

I heard Eda ask from downstairs.

"Yeah!"

Once I was done, I headed downstairs where I saw Eda and King.

"Morning, Luz!"

King greeted me as his eyes glistened with joy when he saw me. He happily jumped on my shoulder and wagged his canine-like tail.

"Morning, King."

I said as I scratched his chest, making him lean into the feeling. I pulled out my phone and saw what time it was.

"Okay, I gotta go to school now. King, try not to annoy Eda too much."

I said as I shut the door behind me. I started walking to Hexside as the thought of my dream from last night decided to come to the front of my mind. In it, I was back in my own realm and in the school that I hated so much. Everyone, and I mean everyone was picking at me and teasing me. I was getting shit thrown at me from every which way. I was the target.

"Hey, Luz."

A familiar voice pulled me back from my thoughts.

"Hey, Amity. How're you?"

I asked as I smiled for a few seconds at her. She was so beautiful.

"I'm okay. What about you?"

Am asked me.

"Eh, okay, I guess. Happy to see you though."

"Aww... How gay."

Amity said as she smirked and I let out a small laugh. I didn't know if Amity felt the same way, but I had a huge crush on her. Like... I was beyond in love with this girl! Every time we're together, which is often, I can feel the butterflies in my stomach. Amity Blight was perfect.

"Yeah, you're right."

I said as we continued to walk to Hexside.

"You doing anything this weekend, Luz?"

My crush asked me, pulling me back into reality.

"Uhh... I don't think so."

"Then, do you wanna hang out.... W-with.. Me..?"

Amity asked. I definitely did and I wanted to tell her yes, but all I could do was feel my face heating up. I could feel my face getting aggressively red.

"Y-yeah! Yes! Of course! I'm answering too many times!"

I said in panic.

"Cool. So, I can just come to the Owl House then?"

"Yeah, if Eda says it's fine. I'm sure she will though."

I answered her calmly this time.

"I hope she does. I really could use a break from my family."

"Something going on at home?"

"Well, you know how my parents are... They just love comparing me to Ed and Em, lowering my damn confidence."
