And when you smile. The whole world stops and stares for a while. 'Cause girl you're amazing. Just the way you are."

Get up and go get ready." Fiona said to me. It was Saturday, a free day for us. We had decided to go grocery shopping. "Oh no! I didn't sleep till 11 am, did I?" I asked, laughing. "No, you didn't." Fiona replied, laughing at me. I smacked her arm and walked to the bathroom.

I wore a blue tank top and ripped jeans with blue canvas to match. I packed my hair in a ponytail and applied light makeup: lip gloss and some powder. I hid the bags under my eyes with some mascara, not everyone has to know that I've not been sleeping well or that I've been having nightmares again.

Fiona wore a short red gown and heels. Her makeup was a bit too overdone, and she looked overdressed for shopping, but she couldn't care less. According to her, we could run into Anderson anytime.

Anderson was yet to ask her to be his girlfriend, although they have been on a couple of dates and shared kisses after each date.

We went in her car as usual. We stopped at Marks & Spencer and we spent an hour doing the grocery shopping.

We had more than enough time to shop as much as we wanted, so we decided to go to the mall. When we were done, Fiona still felt as if we had not spent enough time, and I was starting to wonder if it was because we had not spent enough time or because not enough people had seen her dress.

We went to Kaifeng restaurant because we wanted to try Chinese. "Use the booth over there, girls." An old man in a black and white uniform said to us. We walked to it and got settled before a waiter came to take our orders. I ordered Wontons while Fiona asked for Ma Po Tofu.

The food was tasty and delicious. We chatted over lunch until Fiona got a text from Anderson asking her to hang out with him. She decided it was time to go. We dropped a one dollar bill each and walked out of the restaurant.

On our way out, we were stopped by someone. "Hey, are you the sun? Because you're so beautiful, it's blinding me." He said. I stepped aside since he was talking to Fiona. "Hi" He said, facing me. Oh, he was talking to me. He looked like a model in his Ralph Lauren shirt and Levi's jeans with long hair that fell on his face. His perfectly structured body was to die for.

"I'm Edward" He said with a smile. "Mia" I said, forcing a smile. "Uhm... We were heading out before you stopped us." I said, trying not to sound rude.

"There is something wrong with my cell phone, it doesn't have your number in it." He said, making me laugh. Oh my God! Another pickup line. What a hopeless romantic. "Uhm... I don't give out my number..." I trailed off. "We will be right back." Fiona said, pulling me away from him.

"What's wrong?" She asked "With?" I asked too. "I mean, why don't you want to give him your number? She asked. "Fiona, you of all people should know how I feel about men. My past is not something I like to recall." I don't want a man in my life, not even as a friend." I said, reciting one of my old, overused lines.

"I know, but there is no harm in trying. I really think it's time for you to move on. You can't live the rest of your life hating men because of him." She said again. "I don't want to, I want to be free. I want to live my life the way it pleases me. From my experience, all men are trash." I told her. "Ouch!" she said, faking hurt. "There are always bad eggs among good eggs, you know.

Saying all men are trash because of one or two people is just like saying all women are sluts because Georgia is one. Remember, it's better to try and fail than not to try at all." She said. "The last time I followed your advice, I got into trouble." I said, smirking at her. "We were still too young that time." "There's a special person waiting for you, you just haven't met him yet, and you wouldn't know the one for you if you fail to try." She said, smiling at me. That was reasonable. She sounded like my mother sometimes. She had a way of convincing people. She would make a good lawyer someday.

We went back to him: Edward. "Okay" I said, and dictated the digits to him. "Thank you." He smiled and gave me a peck on my cheek before walking away.
