"Hi, Santana. There's something really important I need to get off my chest." Brittany said introduced herself for absolutely no reason at all, she just hadn't seen the girl in so long, and everything felt awkward. To make matters worse, she was shivering due to the freezing weather.

Santana gave the blonde a confused glare; confused as to why they were out so late, especially considering how little they knew each other. It would be more normal if someone like Quinn had rang her at such a time, but nobody else. Santana just wanted Brittany to get on with it, she was still embarrassed from their last encounter. "Sorry," Santana apologised when she realised she was keeping the blonde waiting, "Go ahead, get it off your chest."

"Well..." Brittany began. She realised how little she actually thought this through and how unprepared she was. "I like you Santana. I like you a lot. I mean- No. I hate you, I hate how rude you are to me, I hate how you target me," Brittany makes a frustrated face while looking down at the grass. "And... I hate how much I like it. That makes no sense, but I'm infatuated by you, everything you do makes me so curious, you're so intriguing. And when you talked about me in the Lima Bean I thought about what you said about me over and over, but eventually I decided to stop overthinking it and just ignore those feelings... but I can't ignore them anymore. I don't know what those feelings are, but all I know is that I like you... as a lot more than a friend." All of Brittany's words rapidly started to fall out like word vomit, and even she was shocked about what she said. She couldn't even remember what she said, but all she knew was that she meant every word of it. Santana was different from everyone she had ever met. Santana was even more different than Brittany, and everyone called Brittany 'different'. Brittany wasn't in different in a good way though, which she found out the hard way.

The wind was blowing intensely, causing their hair to cover their faces. There was a slight pause between the two girls, neither knowing who should speak.

"I..." Santana stuttered. "I don't know."

"You don't know what?" Brittany replied. Her heart was beating outside of her chest because of all the nerves flowing through her body. It was like she could feel every organ in her body- did she even know how many organs were in her body? Brittany failed biology. She fails a lot of subjects... but she can't fail this subject; she can't fail Santana. Santana wasn't boring like biology physics; Santana was... well, she was Santana.

"I don't know what to say. I mean, I thought you hated me." Santana tucked her hair behind her ears. "I like you a lot too... obviously." Santana laughed attempting to break the tension- it didn't work. Her mouth started to feel dry and she regretted not drinking a bottle of water before she left. Is it normal for someone to get nervous? For the first time in her life she actually understood why people get nervous and she had no idea why.

"I like you Santana, and I miss you. I miss hating you and fighting you, it all sounds so fucking ridiculous but I miss it. Now can you please tell me how you feel so I stop looking like a desperate little clown?" Brittany asked impatiently, rolling her eyes in anger at how little Santana was saying. It wasn't her intention to come across as so frustrated and impatient, but sometimes it's her natural instinct to come across as mean to the Latina, but you couldn't blame her, right?

It was very obvious that the two still had no problem snapping at each other, which confused both of them and didn't help the situation at all.

At this point, the wind was practically wiping them away from each other, every few seconds the girls would inch further and further apart without even realising it. The rain was pouring down more than it had ever poured before, Santana remembered hearing about a potential storm coming to see Ohio this week. Every star in the sky was visible amongst the black sky- with the only useful sources of light coming from a few close by park lights. Why did it have to be so cold?
