Letting the suspect run away was unacceptable on Jared's part but he wasn't too hard on himself as he walked back to Detective Sagiri and the victim he just saved.

The victim had a blurry vision of his saviours, all of his senses are still dulled from the encounter. As EMT arrived on the scene. They loaded him on the ambulance and went on to the nearest hospital. The next thing the victim saw vividly was the hospital room he's in. He had a neck brace, IV on his hand, and two men standing still.

Detective Sagiri went closer to the victim's bed.

"The doctors said you just suffered a Laryngeal trauma. You can't speak for a while, but I'm going to ask you a few questions. Just blink once for yes, and twice for no. Do you understand?"

The victim blinked.

"Good, do you remember what happened to you?"

The victim blinked again.

"Okay, did you see who attacked you?"

The victim paused. His eyes moved around trying to remember but ultimately he blinked twice.

"Alright thank you for your cooperation."

Detective Sagiri and Jared walked out of the room. Before they could reach the door, the victim strained himself to sound like a broken trombone. The pair looked back at the victim. His eyes soaked, he wanted to say a thousand words yet couldn't. Detective Sagiri understood the look.

"She's safe. Over there." Detective Sagiri pointed at the chair next to the patient's bed.

The dakimakura was laid perfectly so well that it could be seen as the character was sitting. The patient saw this and couldn't help but drip with tears. Detective Sagiri nodded and left the room.

Detective Sagiri clicked his tongue.

"Detective, what next?" Jared asked with genuine concern. He felt responsible for letting the suspect go.

"Right now, I don't know. I thought we had a solid lead on our suspect, but it turns out he saw nothing. So that's a bust"

"Well if we don't have any witnesses or evidence then I might have an idea."

"Does it involve a long dragged out case solving that would give me an unbelievable number of gasp and reaction face?"

"Probably not... why?"

"Never mind."

Jared laid in his plans, Detective Sagiri listened in as everything would be set in motion the following day. A young man, dressed in a tracksuit wearing a baseball cap, entered the dakimakura store. As the man walked in the manager greeted him. He walked into one of the isle and picked up a folded dakimakura, he then proceeded to pay for it at the cashier.

"Akeno Himejima eh? I'm more of a Rias guy myself." The manager snickered as he bagged the dakimakura.

The man nodded to the manager and left the store. Elsewhere Detective Sagiri felt a little anxious as he followed the man.

"Isn't this a little risky, rookie?" Detective Sagiri asked over the radio.

"I guarantee you detective this will work. I mean stalking the murderer in anime usually ends in another dead victim, but I trust my plan." Jared reassured him.

"That's true but this whole track down, pincer attack, ambush plan are kinda risky. How are things on your end?" As the detective said this, the man he was following suddenly fell out of his sight.

"I lost visuals. Do you have anything?" He started to sound frantic.

"It's okay detective, I have visual. I'll just have to wait for him to do it in the act."

As Jared said, someone is already tailing the customer. He was wearing everything in all black and on his head a ski mask.

The murderer rushed at the customer, he swiped the bag of dakimakura and took it out of the cover. He unfurled the dakimakura cover and moved to wrap it around the customer's neck.

But instead of another kill the murderer was taken in for a surprise. The customer anticipated everything as he grabbed the murderer's hand and threw him on his back. Without wasting any second, the customer stole the dakimakura back, and used it to tie the murderer's arms and legs together.

"You have the right to remain silent, everything you say can be used against you in the court of law you son of a bitch." The customer told the murder as he lifted his cap of revealing none other than the rookie himself, Jared.

Jared then read the murder his rights. Just as then Detective Sagiri arrived, he cuffed the murderer and decided to unmask the man.

As the mask lifted Detective Sagiri was lost for words. It wasn't Stewie like he suspected. It was none other than the taiyaki vendor himself.

"You- You're the taiyaki vendor. Tell me, why did you kill those men?!." Detective Sagiri looked at him with disgust.

The taiyaki vendor looked at Detective Sagiri. "For the glory of a pure and unadulterated word. We are the Mudadora-ara."

Before the taiyaki vendor could say more, the back-up cops arrived.

Jared handed him over to them.

"Mudadora-ara?" Jared questioned as he looked at Detective Sagiri for answers.

Detective Sagiri did not glance back at the rookie.

"Good work rookie. Men like could be helpful in the OCD." Detective Sagiri patted Jared's back.

Jared gave a smile that is either of embarrassment or pride. He was still bothered by what the taiyaki vendor just said.

"Sir, what's gonna happen next?"

"Well, he'll go to prison. His store will be closed. Probably be bought by another tenant... Shame those were some good taiyaki."

"No, I mean, the suspect sir."

"Didn't you just hear me? Prison."

"I heard and I know sir. But what he said, about Doramuda-ara."

Detective Sagiri sighed. "Don't worry about it. We caught him, which means as the superior officer I'll be the one questioning him. If he says anything anime related I'll dig deeper. If not, then in prison he goes and I'll be looking for my next case."

Jared was downcast.

As the suspect was being escorted inside the car, Detective Sagiri took out a pocky from his pocket and chomped on it.

"Mudadora-ara huh. I better tell her about this." He waited for the sirens to roar as he walked away from the scene. Fulfilled at the fact he caught another serial killer plaguing the anime loving city of Anim.

But wary of a danger he just unearthed.
