Just then the doorbell rang.
"I told you he would show up", Kiyoko smiled and walked to open the door to find her best friend along with Iwaizumi.
"Come on in", she held the door open for them.
"Why are you awake already?", Oikawa wondered.
"You should be glad you didn't wake her up you moron", Iwaizumi hissed but then turned soft when he looked at Kiyoko "I am sorry for the disturbance Kiyoko".
"Oh don't worry. Noya got here two hours ago", she pointed to the living room where the small man waved towards them.
They greeted each other and settled down around the table with a coffee in each of their hands.
"So tell me what's up", Tooru said casually.
"Yeah please do, he hasn't shut up about it since yesterday", Iwaizumi stated who was obviously dragged here although he was tired as hell.
"Rude Iwa-chan", Oikawa glared at him but then turned back to Kiyoko expecting her words with anticipation.
"Ryuu and I are going to marry", she told him happily and Oikawa looked like a child on christmas day. Even Iwaizumi smiled.
"Oh my god! That's amazing. I am so happy for the both of you", he exclaimed and pulled her into his arms "when did this happen?"
"I asked her at a family dinner two days ago", Tanaka told him.
"Iwa-chan why didn't you ask me to marry you at our family dinner?", Oikawa whined.
"Are you kidding me? I asked you in Paris like a freaking cliche because I thought you would love it and you did", Iwaizumi said "maybe I will ask for the divorce at the next family dinner".
The moment he said it he regret his words. He knew Oikawa was just teasing him with his words and he should have known better than to use harsh words like these.
"Iwa-chan", Oikawa gasped and looked to the floor sadly "I'm sorry".
"No", Iwaizumi stood up to kneel before Oikawa and catch his eye "I am sorry. I didn't mean it. I am just... my nerves are blank just like yours. I knew you were kidding and I shouldn't have let it out on you".
"I know it's a lot of stress", Oikawa mumbled "but I hope you know that I love you".
"I know. And I love you too", Iwaizumi repeated "I am sorry, I really didn't mean it".
"Thank you", Oikawa smiled at him but Iwaizumi didn't leave his side.
"So your name isn't Oikawa anymore?", Noya spoke up to ease the air and Oikawa looked up at him thankful.
"Technically no", he said "but my old friends stick to the name. It's hard to leave habits behind".
"It would be confusing to call both of you Iwaizumi too", Noya grinned.
"I am proud to have that name on my jearsey though", Oikawa smiled brightly "but back to the wedding! Tell me everything".
"There isn't much to tell yet as we don't have a date", Kiyoko said "but we want to marry soon. We don't want to wait for months".
"I have a friend I could call who rents locations", Iwaizumi spoke up "he owes me for helping him with his knee once".
"That would be great man", Tanaka was ecstatic about those news.
"There is something I have to ask you", Kiyoko spoke up "and I know it's not really conventional but..."
Oikawa looked at her patiently waiting for her to take a deep breath and continue although he was dying of curiosity.
"Would you be my bridesmaid?", she asked and Oikawa's jaw dropped to the floor.
"What?", he asked loudly.
"If you don't want to then...", she was cut off by his arms around her.
"Of course I want to I just didn't expect you to ask me of all people", he said.
"Tooru you are my best friend. Who else should I ask?", she smiled at him and he grinned at her.
"Well then we are going to look for wedding dresses now", Oikawa exclaimed and they left after Kiyoko took a shower.
"What was that at breakfast about?", Kiyoko asked as they were alone.
"Oh we just have a lot on our hands right now", Oikawa mumbled.
"Tooru if you don't have time for this then yo-", she started but Oikawa shook his head.
"I am really glad for any distraction actually", he spoke quietly.
"Are you and Iwa okay?", she asked concerned.
"Yes we are. Don't worry. I know it was just the stress talking earlier. We are happier than ever actually", he smiled but he still looked sad.
"What's stressing you then?", she asked him.
"Iwa-chan and I want to adopt a child", he told her "but it's really hard as a same sex couple. You should think it wouldn't be this hard in the 21st century but here we are. There are only three organizations left. We applied a few days ago and are still waiting for an answer. They told us it would take some time. And I guess it's a good sign. The others just told us that we couldn't be parents as soon as they got the appliance. It's just so sad. Why are we not good enough to be parents just because we are both men? The world is shit, Kiyoko".
"I really hope you get the chance to be parents", she smiled at him "I am sure you will do great. And always remember that I am here for you when the world is cruel".
"Thank you", Oikawa kissed her head "I am sorry I turned this conversation into the me show again. This is your day!"
"I am glad you told me and I have my fingers crossed for the both of you", she smiled.
"I hope it helps", Oikawa said and he felt better now after telling her about it "but now let's find the perfect dress for a perfect bride".
She smiled excitedly as he held the door to the bride shop open for her and stepped inside with high hopes.
