After what Mike and I discussed, I couldn’t sleep. When I did, I kept having dreams about my parents. I felt like one of the demigod’s in Rick Riordan’s books. They always had dreams that would show the future or someone would be telling them something through their dreams.

Be strong, Paige.” my mom said in my dream.

Never show weakness.”my dad said just like he would when we were in his martial arts class.

The dream changed and I was with Jake in some weird place that I’ve never seen before. We were holding hands, running.

Where are we going?” I asked as we ran.

“We have to save them before it’s too late!” he says and we ran through a door.

Sitting in the room, tied up was Mike and Jake’s parents.

It’s a trap!” Mike yelled at us.

When we turned the strange couple from when I was ten years old was holding out a pie towards us.

Oh, how lovely for you to join us.” she said with her creepy smile.

Let’s kill this one first.” the guy said, pointing a gun at Jake.

NO!” I yelled and once he pulled the trigger, Mike woke me up.

“Paige.” he says, shaking me. My room was still dark, so it was probably really early in the morning.

“Oh, my God.” I start panting, sitting up.

“Sorry, did I scare you?” he asks, stepping back and observing me.

“No, I had a bad dream.” I answer, trying to breathe calmly.

“The same one?” he asks and I shake my head.

I told him my dream and his eyes widened a little when I told him. He scratches his head and sits on my bed.

“You have the weirdest dreams.” he says, looking at me weird.

“I know, I hate them.” I say, rubbing my eyes.

“Well, everything is going to be okay. There's nothing to worry about." he assures me.

"Hopefully." I frown and he pats my back.

“I have to go. I just wanted to let you know. So make sure you stay aware of your surroundings.” he warns.

“Alright.” I nod.

“Just in case.” he says, setting a gun on my dresser next to my bed.

I took in a deep breath and nodded.

“Be safe. You have to promise me.” he says, holding out his pinky.

“I promise.” I nod, wrapping my pinky around his.

“I’ll see you later.” he gets up, “Cerberus is on the lookout.” he says.

I get up to hug him and he slowly hugs me back. It probably caught him off guard but I was trying to make him feel better. I knew he was worrying about me even though he tries playing it cool like it’s nothing.

Mike leaves and I went back to bed. I was scared to shut my eyes but my mom’s voice spoke in my head. “Be strong, Paige.

“I will be strong.” I say, trying to sound convincing.

Jake came over around lunch time and I had to hide the gun under my bed because it would freak him out. I told him that Mike was going to be gone all day and when he smiled mischievous I told him that Mike said “no parties” and he frowned.
