After I get out of Mrs. Zuckert's class, I see Jake waiting for me right next to the door. I was so happy to see him even though we just saw each other at lunch but no matter what, he will always make me happy.

"Hey." he grins.

"Hi." I smile, excitedly. I kiss him on the cheek and hug him.

"Wanna come over?" he asks. I have been waiting for that question for weeks.

"Of course." I grin and he chuckles.

"My mom misses you." he says.

"So you only want me to come over because of your mom?" I ask with one hand on my hip and the other holding my bag.

"No, of course not!" he chuckles, "I wanna do homework with you too, silly." he bites his lower lip.

"You doing homework? That's going to be something new." I joke.

"I do my homework," he says, "last minute." he admits and we laugh.

We walk to his car, hand in hand and I start feeling all the worries melting away from my mind. We get into his car and we drove off. I call Mike to let him know about going to Jake's and he says he's fine with it.

"I'll be checking on you soon. One of the spies found Jane leaving from the hospital with blood on the right side of her shirt." he says.

"That's exactly where..." I hesitate, "she got poked." I say in a low tone because I don't want Jake to eavesdrop and then ask me about it later on.

"Any of the spies would've followed her but they weren't nearby. They just saw their surveillance video and realized that it was her." he explains.

"Did she get picked up?" I ask.

"Yeah, she got a ride from an SUV but no one saw the driver." he answers.

"Okay, well I'll be at Jake's if you need me." I say.

"Alright. Be careful." he says.

"I will." I nod, "Bye." I hang up and Jake glances at me.

"What was that about?" Jake asks with a curious look.

"What?" I ask, trying to play dumb.

"What were you talking about with Mike?" he asks.

"Oh..." I say, trying to think of a lie, "Some lady Mike knows got in a little accident." I finally say.

"Oh," he nods, "Hope she's alright."

"I don't." I mumble.

"What?" he asks, making a weird face.

"I said, 'I know'." I lie.

I hate lying but it was the only way to keep the spy thing a secret.

In the car, we talked about the night he snuck out to come to my house. I told him how Mike found out and then I realized I shouldn't have told him because I had to come up with a good lie on how he found out. I couldn't tell him that Mike keeps camera's around the house or that spies keep a close watch on me. So I told him that he saw him walking home and figured he came from my house.

Studying with Jake around is never easy. He gets bored easily and wants to just spend time with me. We're sitting by a tree in his backyard, trying to get some homework done. Well, he was. I'm trying to read a Rick Riordan book because I finished my homework while Jake was messing around. He keeps pulling handfuls of grass and tossing it in the air. Such a kid.

"I'm thirsty. Do you want something?" he asks.

"I want you to finish up your homework so we could finally get some time for ourselves." I tease and he sticks his tongue out at me.
