Chapter 5

(Saturday-Sectionals)
*Kurt POV*
Today is sectionals. The day of my solo. No one knows that I have a solo except for the group. I didn't tell my dad, Carole, or Blaine. I also begged the others not to tell them either.

"Kurt you ready to go? We have to be at the school in fifteen minutes" Finn says walking into my room

"Yeah I'm ready" I say

"Why won't you let me tell Burt and my mom" Finn asks

"Because. My dad doesn't really come to these things because they're not his thing so I don't want him to have to sit through it" I say

"Kurt that's a terrible reason. I'm telling him" Finn says

"Finn don't" I say

"Nope. I'm telling him" Finn says

Finn runs out of my room and I run after him. We run downstairs and to the kitchen where my dad and Carole are.

"Boys no running in the house. Wait, Why were you running?" Carole says

"Well I need to tell you something important" Finn says

"No he doesn't. You can just ignore whatever he has to say" I object

"I'd like to hear what he needs to tell us" Carole says

"Same here" my dad says

"Thank you. Now I know you were considering not coming Burt because you were going to go to work but I think you should come. Kurt has a solo" Finn says

"Kurt is this true" my dad asks

I nod and Carole gets up and gives me a hug.

"Why didn't you tell me?" My dad asks

"I didn't think you'd want to come. You're not exactly into glee clubs" I say

"Yeah but I'm into supporting my son. This is a huge deal Kurt" my dad says

"No. Not really" I say

"Kurt stop selling yourself short. You are an amazing singer and should've been given solos a lot sooner" Finn says

"Finn's not wrong sweetie. You really are an amazing singer" Carole says

"Thank you" I say

"Alright we better get going but we'll see you guys after" Finn says

"Yeah." Carole says

We go to the car and get in. Finn starts it up and drives off.

"You are not telling Blaine. He hasn't heard me sing yet and I want it to be a surprise" I say

"Blaines coming" Finn questions

"Yeah. He sort of has a secret he's been keeping from all of you" I say

"What is it" Finn asks

"If I tell you do you promise not to tell? Cause the others would flip" I say

"Of course" he says

"Alright well Blaine's a warbler. Actually, he's the lead singer of the warblers" I say

"I know" Finn says

"How do you know" I ask

"You aren't exactly quiet when you're talking on the phone with him. You've been asking him if he's ready for sectionals lately and I put two and two together. I'm not that dumb Kurt" he says

"Fine. Why didn't you tell the others" I ask

"Did you really want Santana to go Lima heights adjacent on you and/or Blaine" he asks
