Chapter 2

I've always known I was an idiot.

And I guess this just proves my point.

The ball of fire and wind was spiraling towards me and I could feel my hands heat up inside my gloves. My body was weak from malnourishment and I knew that I had a couple more hours before I would pass out. I turned my head and spotted the boy watching me with wide eyes, on the verge of panic. After all, I did have a large and illegal ball of power heading straight towards me. Strangely I felt calm as I hastily ripped the gloves off by the fingertips.

I had no idea what I was doing and I knew that this was probably the stupidest thing in my life. Deciding to wing it, I just kinda flung my hands out and hoped for the best. It's not like I knew how to use any of my power and my fingertips were tingling so I must have been doing something right?

Wrong.

In mere seconds, the ball of power collided with my body and I was slammed into the wall behind me. My entire body felt like it was burning and the wind was heated like my own personal ball of sun.

Well that hurt.

Weakly, I managed to lift my head and catch the boy's expression. His face was filled with horror and utter confusion. I quickly mouthed the word,"Run" and in seconds he was heading for the high hills. I guess the boy assumed that I would automatically be this big and strong girl who had came to save him. I'm also guessing that he thought I let myself get hit for a chance for him to escape. Well guess what buddy.

This is my brilliant plan;

Operation: Wing it, and try to survive.

With a sigh, I painfully made myself sit up and glared at my blackened hands. What's the point in having them if their not going to actually help me? The gang glared at me and some of them even started to laugh at my pitiful situation. Looking over behind them, I dramatically gasped and they all turned their heads.

And with that I ran, like my hair was on fire.

But hey! At least I didn't get my butt kicked. Now my problem is finding a decent meal to eat before I pass out from starvation.

Man.

"Life sucks." I quietly muttered before slipping my gloves onto my black hands. Somehow I had remembered to stick them into my pocket before I decided to become a burnt hot dog.

At least I thought one thing through.
