5# Exploring The Town

Brandon seemed surprised by my response and just stood there looking at me. Lilly then said, "She is a quick learner, I was surprised as well." Brandon turned his stare off of me and looked at Lilly. "Yes, I think she should be good to go. Maybe take her up to the market. But make sure she covers her eye, unlike us the people up there might not be as okay with it." Lilly nodded and asked me if I still had the eye patch. "Eye....patch?" I said while looking at her confused. "Yes, an eye patch is something you put on one of your eyes. We need it to cover your black eye cause the people on the market are not so open to people who are different." She said. I looked back in my pocket and took out the eye patch then showed it to her. "Yes that's it! Let's put it on you and then we can go out. It's already pretty late but that makes it easier for you to get to know the place". I nodded not fully understanding, then, we left the basement and went out into town.

The town is big and even though there weren't that many people out, there were so many different sounds and noises, people were laughing at the tavern, children playing, and there was a spectacle with a lot of people watching. I turned to Lilly and pointed to the event "Go there? What is?" Lilly chuckled and said, "Ah there's a play going on, sure let's go look." I rushed over almost tripping as Lilly followed "These people are performing, it is to entertain others. They pretend to be someone and tell a story like this. This one is about a mean lady who kidnaps the daughter of the king because she has the power to keep her looking young and beautiful. And of how the girl grows up and escapes." She said as we stood at the back of the crowd watching. I watched the play in amazement getting lost in the story.

It was late when the play ended but Lilly wanted to show me a little more of the town. We entered the tavern and sat down at a table, soon after that a lady walked up to us "Not exactly the place to see two young ladies like you at this hour, what can I get you, girls?" She said. Lilly looked at me and told me to look around and say what I wanted. I looked at what everyone was drinking realizing most of the people were drinking the same thing, I looked back at Lilly and pointed towards someone, and said "Try that? Please?"
Lilly chuckled and nodded "Sure, let's just not drink too much of that" She looked back at the lady and ordered two root beers. The lady leaves and comes back a few minutes later "Here are your drinks girls, enjoy your night" She puts down two big wooden cups filled with beer on the top and then walks off to another customer.
"Is yummy?" I ask while looking at my drink. "Try it and you'll know" Lilly replied. I stop staring at the drink and pick it up take a sip and say "Woah so yummy!"  Proceeding to chuck down the beer from the wooden cup.
