The Night Of The Fallen

~A Robots In Disguise One-Shot~

Info: This one-shot occurs in the past and as if Jetstorm and Slipstream were brothers, enjoy.

Slipstream suddenly awoke to the sound of a scared whimper, he slowly climbed out of his berth and looked over at his brother.

Jetstorm was sobbing quietly in his sleep as tears flowed down his faceplate, he seemed really afraid.

The red Buzzsaw had no idea what he was dreaming about, but he knew it wasn't good, so he carefully made his way over to him.

Gently, he placed a servo on his brother's shoulderplate and rubbed it gently, trying to calm him down without waking him up.

It didn't work...

Slipstream wasn't sure what to try next, so he held Jetstorm's shoulderplates and shook them lightly, trying to wake him up.

Eventually, he woke up with a gasp. Slipstream quickly jumped back as his brother sat up, before wrapping his arms around him.

Jetstorm held back his sobs as he hugged his brother tight, burying his faceplate in his chest.

Slipstream knelt down a little so that their faceplates were level with each other. "What did you see?" he asked kindly and quietly.

The black Buzzsaw sniffed before responding. "C-Carrier..." he replied through his sobs.

Slipstream's optics widened as his spark shattered at his answer. They had lost her a few years ago, along with their Sire, because of a gas tank explosion in their home. Since then they had been living on the streets until recently being taken in by Drift.

The Mini-con didn't know what to say in response, he couldn't find the right words. Hearing him say that caused a few tears to appear in his own optics, but he ignored them in order to not upset his brother anymore.

Slipstream chose not to say anything and just hugged his brother again, rubbing his back in a soothing manner. Jetstorm calmed down a little as he hugged him back.

During the hug, Slipstream chose to say a few things after all. "Jetstorm, our parents may be gone, but they will always live on in our sparks, and we will always remember them."

Jetstorm nodded as his brother spoke. "And now, you have me, and I have you, and we both have Drift, who I'm sure will love us just as much as they did, only in his own way."

The black Mini-con sniffed as he pulled away. "T-thanks."

Slipstream smiled at him whilst keeping his servos on his brother's shoulderplates. He then looked around and noticed a few energon cubes in the hall.

"Would you like some energon?" Slipstream asked him. Jetstorm nodded in response.

Slipstream nodded then let his brother lie back down on his berth before leaving to get the energon, he had to be quiet in order to not disturb Drift. He wasn't sure if he was resting or meditating, probably the second one.

He carefully picked up the cube and handed it to Jetstorm. He took a few small sips before drinking the whole cube.

Slipstream took the empty cube and placed it away on the floor, he would clean it up in the morning.

Jetstorm let out a quiet yawn after finishing the cube, Slipstream smiled as he kissed his forehelm before placing a servo on his shoulderplate, rubbing it gently. The Mini-con got comfortable in his berth then fell asleep.

Slipstream stayed put for a few minutes before returning to his own berth by the window, he looked out to see Luna-1 in the distance.

Their old home.

"Carrier, Sire, thank you for saving us, we both love you so much, and we hope that if there is any chance that you lived, that we will see you soon," Slipstream whispered as he looked out of the window.

He had never told his brother, but he never checked to see if they were offline, he only saw a pile of rubble, he couldn't check for it was too hard. So he hoped that there was a small chance of them being alive.

Slipstream climbed into his berth after closing the curtains and taking one more look at his brother. Jetstorm was sleeping peacefully. Slipstream smiled.

"Goodnight, Jetstorm," he said softly before falling into recharge.
