-Keegan-

The door opened and his father walked in, Cara following behind him. Everyone stopped eating at the sight of them, or just their recently fire spitting father. Only Keegan seemed to be taken by the presence of Cara.

Keegan's mother looked at the newcomers with a pondering gaze and then continued eating.

"What are the lot of you looking at?" His father grunted. Orla and Flynn looked straight down into their bowls at the sound of his grumpy tone. Keegan searched for Cara's gaze but she deliberately avoided his, making it impossible for him to let her know how sorry he was about... well, everything.

"I thought I told you two to be out of here when I came back." His father muttered at Keegan and his mother. Keegan shot his mother a look, as did his siblings whom were still very uncomfortable by the tension between their parents. Their mother put down her spoon and looked her husband up and down in silence.

"Enjoy your death, old man." Flynn whispered in fear of what would come.

"Outside, children." Keegan's mother snapped at them. To their surprise she did not start yelling. "Apparently, we are eating outside with the dog today." She muttered and picked up her bowl and walked towards the door. It was evident in her voice that she thought she was being treated poorly, and that her husband wouldn't get as much as the hint of an apology out of her from now on.

"Will they ever make up?" Flynn whispered to Orla. She shrugged her shoulders and then walked after their mother.

"Please. They have only been cross with each other for about an hour or so... Do you not remember when mother refused to speak to any of us for two days?" Orla whispered. "Mother can go without speaking to any of us for days..."

"Oh! Right!" Flynn exclaimed and his light green eyes lit up in remembrance. "Yes, but what about father?" Flynn whispered.

"Shut it!" Orla snapped when they came closer to their parents which were both looking at them with raised eyebrows.

"I only told you and Keegan to leave." His father reminded his children's mother while she passed him, closely followed by two of their young ones. "Flynn and Orla has done nothing wrong."

He got silence in return.

The twins stopped in confusion at their father's words but were instantly summoned by the snapping of their mother's fingers, reminding them that they weren't welcome to join the others for dinner. Keegan watched her hold the door for them before slamming it behind her. It was clearly meant as a sign for her husband, letting him know that even though she was still the wrongdoer, she wasn't happy with him.

"You too." His father grunted when his eyes noticed that there was still someone sitting by the table.

"Fine." Keegan growled. He dropped his spoon into his bowl - making some of the stew splash onto the table - lifted it and walked towards the door. He would have to pass them and his heart started to beat faster and harder as he approached Cara.

Once again he tried to make eye contact with her but she looked down as he came closer. Her eyes seemed suddenly nailed to the floor and his heart sunk.

I wonder how long she will be giving me this treatment...

-Cara-

She felt Keegan's eyes seeking hers as he came closer. It wasn't hard to miss the regret and guilt radiating from his green eyes. As soon as she had stepped inside, and he had seen her, she could sense how sorry he was. It looked like the words were going to slip past his lips at any second, but the rest of his family was bickering, not giving the two of them the slightest chance to speak.
