Sevi's POV:
"Those?" I ask James. He points outside. I look to where he was portraying to.
7 guys, dressed in suits surrounding my house. "Open." The driver opens the door and I walk out, leaving Cayden asleep and James in the car. I move towards a guy on his phone, whose also wearing a suit. Obviously.
"Sorry to interrupt, but may I ask who and what you people are doing outside my house." Brave I say, for a ten year old to ask these bunch of men. He looks at me and ends his call. "Who are you kiddo?"
"Sevi. Do daddy a favor. Every time mommy and I are out of the house and you're alone with Grace and Cyrus. Don't bother to give any information to a stranger outside our house, clicking the doorbell. Do you understand"
I remember what dad said when Cyrus was born. I look back at the guy in front of me. "I must be the one who's asking that, not you." Not to be rude, but that's the only thing that came out my mouth.
He chuckled and removes his shades. "Look kid, don't talk back at me. There's what you call respect. Now, I'm in the middle of work. So please, don't disturb me."
"What kind of work? Staying outside of a strangers house? Is that your work?" I ask. And I swear, I can see that he's irritated by me. He smirks. "No, I'm waiting for the owner of this house to show up. He's done something bad, kid. Now go back to your house before the sun sets."
I shrug and walked passed him but he grabs my shoulder before I could even pass him for like 5 meters. "What?" I questioned him with a raised eyebrow. "Where do you think you're going?" He said emphasizing the word 'you're'. I smile at him and try to remove his hand on my shoulder, but that made his grip tighter. "You said I should go home, and I am but you're stopping me." I copied him emphasizing the word 'you're'.
"This? Is your house?"
"If you were listening to me from the start of the conversation, you could have known earlier. I asked who and what are you guys doing in front of my house." I smile when he removes his hand on my shoulder, shocked. Before he could even say anything, I run to the door and went inside.
There, I spot Cyrus carried by Grace— sleeping. "Grace. Who are they?"
"I don't know sir, but they were looking for Mr. and Mrs. Martinez."
"My parents? Why?" I check out the window to see James's car leaving. I guess they noticed that something's off and flew away to let me take care of it.
I walk up to my bedroom, changing clothes. By the time, I was done. I thought those suit guys left but they didn't. It's currently 7 in the evening, yet they haven't left and the other thing is— Mom and Dad haven't arrived.
Don't tell me those guys will be staying over night until they meet my parents. I decided to ignore the people outside and eat dinner.
---
Someone knocks on my door. "Come in." I say, still focused on the assignments due tomorrow. Yes, I am currently cramming all of these. But, no one can blame me. I was quite busy with my parents and Cyrus............Okay maybe not. Maybe I was just to lazy to do this and all I wanted to do was play outside with my friends.
"Cyrus wants to play." "Sorry Cy, but can you let me finish this first? Then after that we play. Good?" I look at him, carrying a bear stuffed toy given by mom when he turned three. He shakes his head. "Homework later, Cyrus play now."
"No."
"Yes."
"No."
"Ye-" I put on my head phones to remove the noise around me— and that includes Cyrus. He tugs my the end of my shirt over and over again to get my attention but no, I need to do this homework or else— I don't know. Maybe a lecture from my parents?
