He is walking by the water, with his head down. As he looks up, he sees her standing near the edge of the ocean, playing the violin. She looks just like she did on the very first day they met. Her dress is of the softest shade of lilac with printed flowers of the wildest colours, making her look like the most beautiful woman in the world. The rays of the setting sun shone in her hair, gives it a hue of burnished gold. He calls out to her and she looks at him with those blue eyes, that can put the deepest of oceans to shame. She waves at him and he joins her at the edge, smiling like a child who was handed his favorite toy. They sit side by side on a rock and she plays their tune as he silently gazes at her. The peace and quiet that they feel today is what she wanted all those years ago when he went down on one knee and said those magical words. Her eyes may sparkle like crystals of lapis lazuli but her heart is a trove of uncut rubies that somehow still want to be held by him and him alone. She looks at him as their song comes to an end and he puts an arm around her. She feels the warmth of his embrace and they gaze at the ocean.
He kisses her cheek and says, "It's alright my love. I am here now and so are you. I will never let you go again." Life can be a funny thing and just like that, she knows this now. She stood by the edge of the ocean for 42 years and played their song on the violin that he gave her when they fell in love. Their song? She could never bring herself to finish it. Today, at sunset, as he sat next to her, they finished it together. He would eternally be her symphony and her eyes, his deep blue ocean and together they created the most enthralling song of love.
