See you in the office

Work was a good way of pretending other aspects of your life didn't exist. That's why people do it. Money and financial stability is just a bonus.

Namjoon was almost thrilled when he was called in for overtime. The whole house had been much too silent since last night, and he was desperate to collect his thoughts in the best way he knew how: Being a badass boss.

Jin dropped the kids off at school and told Namjoon he'd probably stay late as well. Whether he actually needed to or not, Namjoon wasn't sure. What he did know is that he needed to get to work asap.

The moment Namjoon entered the building he was greeted by his young assistant, Soobin. "Good morning Mr Kim!" He said with a bow.

Namjoon gave him a nod and a small grin. "Good morning Soobin. What's on the agenda today?"

"There's a call with Mr Bang at 10:30, a presentation with Mr Wang at 11:20, then a meeting with 'The Leaders' at 1:15..." Namjoon nodded along while Soobin continued to list off his assignments for the day. He finished once they got to Joon's office.

"Thank you Soobin, keep me posted on any news with Jisoo, I'm still waiting for a few reports from her."

"Yes sir." He bowed once again and took a seat across from Namjoon while he began preparing for the call with the CEO of the company.

The moment the call was over, Jackson walked in with his assistant, Yeonjun. Both college students could sense the tension in the air the moment their sunbaenims made eye contact but didn't comment on it. It wasn't their place anyway. Besides, tension or no tension, Namjoon and Jackson were professionals who knew how to keep their private lives and work lives separate.

As expected, the meeting went smoothly. It was a well-known fact that Jackson and Namjoon worked well together. No matter the circumstances, their projects were always top of the line and today was no different. It was after the presentation, however, that they finally began to talk.

After the final director left, Jackson turned to Namjoon with a serious expression. "Namjoon, listen,"

Namjoon raised his brow and crossed his arms. "God, don't do that..." Jackson muttered. He had always hated that look. It screamed dominance but Jackson would be lying if said he wasn't at least a little into it. "Anyway look, I'm sorry about last night."

The assistants froze. "Ooooh! Is that drama I hear? Do you have any popcorn?"

"Shut up Yeonjun!" Soobin hissed.

The other two hardly acknowledged them. "You're sorry? And what are you sorry for?" Namjoon asked. He maintained his position, knowing full well how it made Jackson feel.

"Seriously?"

Namjoon narrowed his eyes. "Yeah, seriously." They were both fathers and if Namjoon needed to do the 'Tell what you did and why you did it' speech he would.

Thankfully Jackson was well aware of this, he was willing to put his pride aside for just a moment. "I shouldn't have tried to make a move on you. You're right, I'm stuck in the past. I just saw how tired you looked and took advantage of it and it was wrong of me. You and Seokjin have a wonderful marriage, and I shouldn't try to disrupt that."

Namjoon looked through Jackson's eyes. He tried finding any semblance of lies just to make sure he wasn't being disingenuous but he didn't find anything. It relieved him to say the least.

"It's alright." The taller sighed. For a split second, his expression turned stone cold. "Just don't do it again, or I'll be much less forgiving."

Jackson smiled. "Deal."
