"OK, I'll look into it." I say. He gestures me to sit down, I do though I don't know why he wants me to sit. "Alright then let's start with some simple questions," he says and i barley suppress a frown, "Excuse me?"
He furrows his eyebrows and says, "I thought son, that you said that talking to someone would seem like a good idea, so instead of going to a psychiatrist you could talk to someone closer to you."
I shake my head, "Unfortunately, I have to tell you, Mr. Peck that I only said about looking into it. I have a very busy life besides these little breaks."
"Whatever you say son, and I prefer to be called Paul instead of Mr. Peck, I am only 40 years old." He says, I nod, "goodnight then Paul! If you need anything just ask me." I tell him before going into my room.
I pick up my phone and check the message,
I am sorry that I slapped you and went away like that. I will visit you tomorrow. I have some things that I believe belonged to your mother.
Madison.

"I am looking for Dr. Shaun." I say to the main receptionist in the hospital where my mother worked, at least that's what she told us. "Dr. Shaun would be here in a minute, please take a seat. Wait you look familiar for some reason." She says. It makes my throat dry.
"How?" The question slips out of my tounge like I am desperate, but the truth is that I am desperate, for answers. "Wait, you look like the son of Tania Peck! His name was Gally....... I think."
"Gary, yes it is me." She looks at me surprised, "What brings you here, I thought that Tania, well she um mm."
"...passed away." I interrupt, "Yes, well I feel very sorry for her and her family she was a......" she is interrupted by a man with dark skin who is wearing a doctor coat, "I suppose you were looking for me?" He asks and I nod realizing that he is Dr. Shaun.
"My mother, umm Tania Peck was a doctor over here." I say and he looks at me , confused, "I am sorry you are badly mistaken, your mother was not a doctor, she was a kind nurse and she came to the hospital only three times a week, and sometimes she had the night duty with patients in comma." My eyes widen. Only three times a week and she wasn't even a doctor.
Well, what was I expecting, "Really, then where did she earn all the money from? There has to be an explanation." I say and he rubs his face with the palm of his right hand, "Are you even sure that you are his son?" He asks me, which makes me angry.
"I was adopted." I say coldly, "Figures!" He mumbles, "Well she did have another job, but I don't know exactly what it was. Something about art. She was always very busy in this art gallery she worked in." He explains.
No wonder she often doodled leaves or sketched me and Carper. I shake my head. "You know, whenever she had night duties with people in comma she used to tell them everything about her life. It was a habit of hers." He tells me.
If the people in comma were now alive then they were the main source of answers for me, "Could you tell me about the last patient who was in comma and she told her story to him?" I ask.
He looks at me , expressionless,
"For finding out that I would have to dig into some information of the patient and everything, it would take time. Maybe you can come back tomorrow and I'll give you the names of all the patient with whom she had night duties." He says and I nod reluctantly,
"I'll come tomorrow by eleven. Thank you doctor!" I say, however a happy smile on my face, "It will always be my pleasure." He says shaking my hand.
As I sit into the cat and start the ignition, I receive a text.
I am expecting to meet you at your house in ten minutes, to give you the things of your mother.
Madison.
I take a deep breath. As much as a help she can be she can also be danger.
-------------------------------------
"Where have you been, boy?" Paul asks as soon as I step into the house. The house looks like a mess, there are smoking ashes every where and newspapers on the floor. "And why do you wish to know?" I ask trying to keep my voice pleasant. And trying to send a mental note; don't push!
"Im sorry! I didn't suppose you to be angry. I know that you are twenty three, but as for now that I am your guardian, I have the right to know at least where you have been since in the morning at six, till ten." He says back in a rough tone.
"Just went to collect some of mom's things from the hospital." I tell him blandly. I make sure to use mom instead of Tania, because I don't know how he would take it. "Well OK that's fine, right now I am going to lunch with some friends. I'll be back by two." He says while leaving the house.
I start cleaning the mess he made before Madison comes. I clean the news papers and ashes, then I dust the sofa and put the packet cookies in a tray and cover it with a thin cloth and put it on a table.
Then I brush my hair and decide to check in Paul's room, just for curiosity. The joor is slightly ajar, so I peep. His bed is not made, the sheets are all wrinkled and there are a few torn old books on the floor. And above all, there is dirt on the doormat.
I check the time. Madison can come in at any moment. Sighing, I clean his room, make his bed, arrange the books, when I notice something. A paper on the floor, it has a very similar symbol, and yet it is very hypnotizing. Without thinking I pick it up.
It is a jumble of words and one of them catches my eye, CarperPeck!
