Hello everyone, including space aliens and unicorns! ;) As promised, I made this chapter much longer than the last one, which was dreadfully short!!!

I would like to inform you that  this chapter takes place about a day after the last one. Hopefully, this clears up any confusion that might have arisen.

Drew's POV

Just keep swimming. Just keep swimming.

You're probably wondering what I am doing, right? Well, I'm trying to calm my nerves by reciting one of Dory's quotes from Finding Nemo. I never really thought of a fish as being smart before, but right now Dory's wise words seem to be the only thing working for me.

Just keep swimming

Call me a maniac, but wouldn't you be doing the same thing if you were in the same position? Seriously, it's not everyday that someone has to face a bunch of bloodsucking creatures of the night alone.

Maybe I could just surrender.

No, I can't do that to my pack. I have to stop putting my own selfish needs before them. It's time I faced my fate.

Alright Drew, you can do this. You're going to find you're little sister and get right out of Charina's house.

Did I ever mention that I haven't even met most of these vampires before, including Charina? I wonder what she looks like. I guess I'm about to find out.

I take a deep breath, shift into a wolf, and begin running to Charina's mansion.

After about fifteen minutes, I run across a dead body lying on the ground. I shift back into my human form and walk up to it to examine it more closely.

It turns out to be a little girl, who looks to be about Lena's age. She would be pretty if it weren't for the blood stains and cuts covering every inch of her dead corpse.

Only one person could've done this.

A vampire.

It's sick, really. How could anyone be so thoughtless and rash as to kill a innocent little girl as if she's worth absolutely nothing? I always thought that vampires might've been at least a tiny little bit nice deep on the inside, but I was just proven wrong. They're dark, souless creatures, who care about nothing more than themselves

I'm knocked out of my trance when my phone rings. I hadn't realized how much time I had been wasting by thinking for so long.

I look at the caller ID, but the caller is unknown. Weird. If anyone were to call me right now, I would expect it to be someone in my pack or my mom.

I accept the call and say, "Hello, who is this?"

"Hello, dearest Drew. Since you seem so eager to know, my name is Charina. Maybe you've heard of me?" Charina inquires.

"It was you wasn't it?"

"What ever are you talking about?"

"You killed the little girl. Or maybe it was one of your other bloodsucking friends."

"Which little girl do you speak of? Perhaps you mean the one in the pink floral dress with red hair. She was a nuisance that needed to be disposed of."

I look at the girl again and see that she looks exactly like the girl Charina is describing.

"Why? Why would you kill her of all people?"

"You have so many questions for a weak and pathetic alpha."

"Answer my question."

"Don't you understand, dear Drew? I had to kill Beth. She served as the perfect example of what I would do to Lena if you dared to try anything against  me when you arrived."

"How did you know I was coming?"

"Isn't it already obvious? Eleazer, a vampire in my coven, is a seer. He informed me that you would be coming right about now."

"Hurt Lena, and I'll kill you."

"Good luck with that. Well, goodbye for now, sweet Drew. Remember what I did to Beth, what I can do to Lena, and what I can do to you. I am not someone that you want to mess with ... ever," Charina says in a sickly sweet voice that makes me want to puke.

"Wait I-" My words are cut off when Charina hangs up her phone, leaving me yet again, alone, unless you count Beth, who is currently dead.

I should've seen this coming. I should've known that Charina would never make things easy for me.

I let out an exasperated sigh and breathe in a little bit of fresh air. There's no more looking backward; there is no more looking down. From now on, I can only look forward.

And guess what I saw when I looked forward? A pure white mansion that belonged to the one and only Charina Evans. At least, I think it's her mansion since it matches the description I've heard from stories that the oldest members of my pack used to tell me.

I walk up to the house and break down the door.

The instant I walk in, I'm greeted with an expensive-looking leather couch, a glass chandelier, a grand piano, and marble white floors. The room seems to stretch for forever. I bet this one room is bigger than my entire house. How rich are these vampires?

I have to admit that the vamps sure know how to impress someone. Honestly, the only negative side of the room is the sickly sweet aroma that's filling my lungs. I can bear it, though.

I press my ear to the wall on the left side of the room and try to see if I can hear anything happening.

"Come and find me, my dearest Drew," someone suddenly says. I'm pretty sure it's Charina. No other vampire can pull off evil as well as her.

"Where are you?!" I shout.

I run around frantically, letting my eyes wander in every direction.

Every muscle in my body freezes when I hear her voice again.

"Look behind you, darling," she says.

I turn around and am met by blood red eyes. Three words enter my mind.

Mate! Mate! Mate!
