Back to the same patient room, Vanessa stared at the wall. Her eyes puffy and red while her hair was damped. After the incident, the doctor had called in more security guards to watch over the halls so Vanessa wouldn't escape again. They even put one standing in front of the entrance, laying his back against the wall with his arms crossed over his chest. At this point, all Vanessa could do was sit and stare.
The door knob jiggled before the door swung open. A pare of electric blue with her own. "You're looking better...?" the Osborn said in more of a question. Vanessa didn't reply. Harry walked over to her and sat at the far end of the bed, right in front of her. He was in his usual attire; navy blue suit, white buttoned up shirt under, not tie, hair gelled to one side. He seemed to have been somewhere important before showing up. Her question though, was why? "The doctor explained that the medicaid they gave was probably what made you lose your mind. That maybe it was the wrong one?" "I didn't lose my mind" Vanessa spoke in a low voice, not making eye contact with Harry. "Vanessa, you went out, took down 2 guards, scared off some doctors, and made almost every person in the waiting room leave because they were scared." Harry summarized in more of a disappointed tone. Vanessa looked down at her hands, she examined the bruises and cuts closely, made every effort not to look at Harry. She heard a sigh escape his lips. "Why?" she spoke. Harry gave a confused look. "Why what?" he asked. "Why did you come?" she said, her tone rising. She finally raised her head to meet eye contact with Harry, keeping her hands down on lap. Vanessa watched as Harry bit his lip and broke his gaze from her to the sheets on the bed. He stayed like that until he finally had the courage to speak. "Word had went out that there was a loud explosion in the Oscorp building. That it caused some damage to the electricity around the offices." Harry laid his back on the small bed board edge. "It disrupted the meeting we set up and I sent out a bunch of security to investigate the problem. As they left, they called me over to them, only to see that an ambulance had drove up at the entrance along with fire trucks and cops. They said they had gotten a call from a woman, screaming and crying that someone was dying. They traced the call back to the Oscorp building. They kicked out most of the employees, including myself, to find the woman and the explosion. When they did, they traced it back to lower level lab, found broken glass, electric eels, blood everywhere on the floor. Next thing you know, they're bringing out a body to the ambulance truck, rushing and pushing everyone away. As they did, I managed to peek at who it was,..." Harry brought his eyes up to Vanessa. "It was you." A lump grew in Vanessa's throat.
She shook her head.
"But I wasn't the only one."
"Your body was the only one found."
"Max was in there!"
"Who the hell is Max?"
"A friend!"
Vanessa began to feel shaky. This didn't make any since. Max was in the tank. He fell in the tank!
"Vanessa," Harry said letting out a sigh."Why were down in the electric room anyways? You were supposed to be in the office working on the paper works I gave you."
"I got bored..." she said while giving a glare at Harry.
"Bored enough to kill yourself?!"
"I'm fine Harry!"
He gave up after that.
"You called for a meeting and I was heading over there until I ran into Max who was not only kicked out of an elevator but died while falling into a tank of eels!" She spat out.
Harry began to bring his hands up to his face rubbed his forehead. "Vanessa, the doctors are determining whether they should send you to a mental hospital. Until you get over this Max guy, I'll talk them out of it." He got off the bed and made his way to the door. "Why do you care so much?" she let out before Harry could even put his hand on the door knob. He licked his lips that he felt were dry the whole time he was talking to Vanessa. "Because I'm not the only who does..." he spoke in a soft tone. Just after he walked out the door, Gwen came bursting in.
