The piercing sound of the alarm clock brought me back from the dead of sleep

The piercing sound of the alarm clock brought me back from the dead of sleep. I glanced at the alarm clock which said 6:50 am. I started to wiggle and stretch in my comfy, warm bed. I realized today was Monday, a school day and I was already twenty minutes late. Suddenly, my body systems were all on go. I threw my duvet away from my body and pounced off my bed like a hunting tiger. I flew open the wardrobe door and hurriedly picked out my outfit for the day. I did not really care if I looked good or not. I was late!

I snatched my backpack off the hook on my door and unevenly skipped down the stairs. I went down the stairs so fast that I almost tripped.

"Woah! Slow down sweetie," said my father who was busy packing my school lunch.

"What time is it?" I said panting as if I was just from being chased by a mob.

"Its 6:57, you better start running to the bus stop, before you get left. Again!"

I quickly munched on my french toast and easily gobbled it down with my cup of coffee. I then snatched my packed lunch from the kitchen counter and put it in my bag, together with my phone and my books.

"Bye dad!," I shouted as I quickly wore my shoes.

I banged the door close and started rushing to the bus stop. The bus stop was about five minutes from our place and the bus usually arrived at the bus stop at around 7:10 am.

Oh my I have about seven minutes left!

I began increasing my pace until I heard someone shout my name from afar. I quickly turned around and did not notice anyone, so I just assumed that it was all in my head.

"Amelia," I heard a voice, slightly more clear now.

I dramatically turned around and saw him. It was the new neighbor, Asher. I stopped and waited from him as he came running towards me.

"Are you okay, why did you call me?" I asked him patiently, trying to consider the fact that he had encountered a fall the previous day.

"I just wanted to ask if you know where the bus stop is, I don't really know my way around this place,"

" I am just headed there right now, Flora High, right?" I said as I continued walking fast.

"Yes, FHS, you school there too!" he said in dismay as he began catching up with my pace.

There was suddenly an awkward silence between the two of us.

Should I start a conversation?

" Umm, how are you fairing after your fall?" I asked him in aim to break the silence.

" I feel a bit sore but I think I'll be doing fine."
