They reached the tree, Gauri made Om put her on the ground so he did as she wanted him to. He sat next to her. She looked at the tree, smiling at it. She looked at the padlock and said: remember...when..when we locked this p..padlock?

Om: I remember. 

Om was 15 at the time and Gauri was 14. They had seen lovers lock padlocks at the tree near the temple so they took a padlock and a key but they didn't lock it at the temple tree. They went to their tree.

Gauri: why did we bring this padlock to our tree?

Om: because this is our tree and it's better to lock it at our tree than at the temple tree. 

Gauri smiled as Om gave her the key. The two locked the padlock together.

Gauri: now our love will be safe inside.

Om: you're right. What did you wish for?

Gauri cutely: if I tell you then it won't come true. 

Om kept his arms around Gauri and kept his forehead on hers.

Om: why can't you tell me? It will still come true if you tell me. 

Gauri: in that case, what did you wish for?

Om: why should I tell you? You're not telling me. 

Gauri cutely: tell me!

Om: no. 

Gauri pouted cutely. Om laughed.

Om: what did you wish for that day Gauri?

Gauri: what did I wish for...um...oh haan, I wanted us to stay together forever. 

Finally years later, he knew what her wish was. He wished for the same thing....he wanted them to stay together forever. Their parents had fallen out because of some issue in business since their dads used to work together in the same company but then Manish walked out of the business after the issue and made his own company. They were 9 and 10 when this fight happened and yet, they still stayed together. They still managed to date one another. 

When Gauri got pregnant and when their parents found out, they were shocked and angry. They wouldn't talk to either one of their eldest children until Gauri was 3 months pregnant. Once Gauri was 3 months pregnant, their parents started acting best friends with one another until....until Gauri went to India. 

Gauri: and I messed up my wish! If I told you my wish, then it would have come true. I should...should have listened. I am an i...idiot. Sorry.

Om: don't say sorry.

Gauri: I...I broke up with you because...because there was a v..vi...video. 

Om: video?

For 6 years, he was really confused over why Gauri broke up with him and it was because of a video...what video? 

His mind brought back a memory he wanted to bury and get rid of but it was still alive...

It had been a few days since Gauri was discharged from the hospital for an overdose of sleeping pills, Om came over to her house to check on her. The moment he entered, she came to him with red eyes...he knew that she had been crying.

Om: baby what happened? 

Gauri didn't say anything but she looked at him dangerously.
