~ Chapter 2 - Fever ~

Emperor walked home with Prince in his arms, struggling to get away.

"Let me go!! I can walk by myself! I'm not a baby anymore," Prince whined.

"You'd start crying that the walk was too long," Emperor said with a tinge of laughter in his voice.

"Would not! I walked over there all by myself."

"Sure you did."

"I did!"

By the time the two were done bickering they had arrived at their house. Since Eging, N-Pacer, Emperor, and Prince shared the house together, it was huge. Maybe a little too big for four inklings but nobody ever complained. It had a modern theme, having lots of gold and white colors everywhere.

Emperor unlocked the door and let Prince inside.

"Did you give it?" N-Pacer asked, who was sitting on the couch next to the TV a little ways away.

"Umm no," Emperor admitted.

"Why not?"

"I didn't want to right away..."

"You don't do it now, you never will, Emperor."

Emperor sighed before making his way up the stairs, Prince following behind. Why is everyone always following me today? he thought bitterly.

When he finally got all the way up the stairs he reached for the doorknob on his bedroom door, to be stopped by Eging.

"Did you do it?" he asked.

"No," Emperor said plainly.

"Why not?"

"I'll just do it tomorrow or something."

Eging shrugged and let Emperor go inside his room. Prince followed him in, for no apparent reason.

"Prince, why are you following me?"

"I'm bored!" Prince exclaimed.

"Well, I'm even more boring. So go away!"

Prince sighed before slowly making his way to the door. Emperor felt somewhat bad for yelling at him, but he quickly shook it off. He then sat on his bed and deeply sighed.

"Now what?" he mumbled.

Gloves was making his way back to his apartment when something shiny caught his eye. He bent down and picked it up. It looked like Emperor's or one of his teammate's earrings. He tried to remember if he saw any of them without it. Failing, he decided to just go over to their house at the end of the street and ask. Since they all carved "ENPRY" on their earrings it was clear that it was one of theirs.

Emperor's house was definitely the biggest house on the block, being three stories high. Gloves had only been inside their house once and only saw the living room really.

He continued walking, counting the lines on the sidewalk as he went. Finally, he arrived. Gloves knocked on the door confidently. It opened revealing Eging.

"Oh hey Gloves!" he said with his usual enthusiasm.

"Hey, I was wondering if this was yours. Or any of your team's," Gloves said as he showed Eging the earring.

"It's not mine, or N-Pacers. She was wearing her's earlier. It might be Prince's or Emperor's though."

Eging opened the door more so that Gloves could enter.

"Their rooms are upstairs. Emperor's is on the left and Prince's is on the right," he directed.

"Thanks!" Gloves said as he started going up the stairs "Would they be upset if I just... showed up?"
