Emperor blinked his tired eyes open. He barely got any sleep last night, too busy thinking of Gloves. Emperor heard that when you're up late thinking of someone and can't sleep, it's because they are thinking about you too. While Emperor thought this was just a lie, he had to admit he was wondering if Gloves had been thinking of him last night. Maybe he was, maybe he wasn't.
Emperor started thinking about how they both had confessed... but nothing happened afterwards. Were they dating? Or still just friends?
Emperor had to admit he had no idea whatsoever.
He lazily got out of bed, got dressed, drank some of his leftover water from last night (not setting it back on his desk this time), and walked downstairs and into the kitchen to where the rest of the inklings in the house were.
"Mornin," Eging smiled.
Emperor exchanged the gesture.
"Did you ever find it?" Prince asked.
"No," Emperor said irritatedly.
"Ah, that's annoying," N-Pacer said as she stepped into the dining room, holding a bowl of cereal.
The dining room was separate from the kitchen, where Emp, Prince, and Eging were. It had many thick white curtains that blocked the sunlight out keeping the room at a nice temperature, a large glass table with dark wood legs and six chairs, three yellow roses in a vase on the table, and more golden and yellow fixtures to decorate the room.
The kitchen also has the same theme, as the rest of the house. It had black and white tile flooring, a white stove and oven, silver sink and fridge, and white countertops and cabinets, with the faintest smell of something that had been recently baked.
Emperor leaned against the wall and watched as N-Pacer picked up a spoon from the table. He wasn't hungry himself and just started to go back upstairs, to be stopped by Prince.
"I made cookies!" he said as he handed Emperor one.
"Aw thanks," Emperor said as he took it from his brother, "You're the only one in this house that can actually bake good food."
Prince blushed a bit from the praise and watched as his brother went back up the stairs. Emperor ate the cookie on the way up, deciding that it would be his breakfast.
He went inside his bedroom and sat at the desk's rolling chair, slowly turning in circles out of boredom. Suddenly, his phone buzzed.
He picked it up off of the desk. It was a message from Gloves. Curious as much as surprised, he opened the message and read.
Gloves:
< Morning Emperor! This is weird to ask but, would you go on a date with me?
Emperor choked on his saliva after reading the text. After about two minutes of coughing he responded.
Emperor:
Yeah! Of course. Where would we go? >
All of the sudden he realized that he'd never found Gloves' gift. He had spent hours last night after he left looking for it. Unfortunately, it seemed to be lost for good.
Gloves:
< Whatever you want is fine. How about 12:30 at the Square?
Emperor responded with "Sure!" he wanted to add a heart at the end but cod knows how embarrassing that'd be. Maybe he should have did a smiley... well, too late now!
