Sleeping in Another World

It was already sunset when I woke up next. I looked at the pebbles and they were no longer in sight. The darkness was growing. It was still bright enough at that time for me to be afraid.

The nap I had was lengthy, longer than the sleep I had the previous evening. My body felt stronger as if I had been very tired the past few hours. I stood up from the bed but had to return quickly as the air was cold.

I felt useless. Aside for getting laid, everything confused me.

I stayed beneath the covers until the darkness became overwhelming. I pulled onto the blanket and placed it over myself as I walked towards the door. The marble floor was cold, but I endured it. The darkness suffocated me and I was afraid to see ghosts.

The hallway outside was well lit, and a guard was there. Knowing that there was another person nearby, I no longer felt afraid.

The guard saw me and knelt down with his elbow parallel to his shoulder and cupping his fist. It was an Oriental bow.

"Greetings Mother Goddess, " he said sternly. It was the same language used from the Satellite. I could tell he was the guard because of his halberd. The guard had no armor, simply wearing a tunic and some pants.

"Good evening, sir." I said coyly, "do you have anything to light up my room?"

The guard called another one and eventually brought me a lamp.

"They do not allow the use of sun diamonds here as a light source " said the other guard. "this is the best we could find"

"Sun Diamond?" I asked.

"It's a mineral found in the empire. It produces a white light similar to that of the sun. The stronger the darkness the brighter it glows"

I recalled the pebbles that had been glowing from my room.

"were they the ones in my room?"

The two guards looked at each other.

"Every morning, sun diamonds are placed in the goddess room. They are collected in the afternoon since they can cause blindness when they are stacked together for so long in the evening."

"Why do they need to put it in my room in the first place? I wish they spare me even just one."

"the stone turns miraculous when exposed with the goddess. It takes three days to about a week before a sun stone starts to heal"

Now he confused me further. With one guard accompanying me, a lantern and the other guard calling a servant, it was no longer scary. I tried to ask more about the sun diamonds but I could not comprehend what they said. What I understood though was that they were very expensive. And I think I broke them with my clumsy paws. Perhaps there was a special way to handle them so they retain their illuminating properties.

A servant soon came bringing a heartier meal. He brought me a vegetable dish, mushrooms, rice and chicken. The servant left dried fruits for me to chew on.

The guards left with the servants while I laid back down the bed. I was finding it difficult to stay awake even though all I did was sleep all day. Walking a short distance was even tiring! The food indeed helped but it was not enough. I was not in the mood to have sex but I knew it was the only way to reduce the damage from my body. I had contemplated if I should simply masturbate. It would still help. But right then I was too exhausted.

Food and sleep is good at repairing my body, but sex empowered my mind and powers. If I concentrate normally I would be able to hear other people's thoughts. Right then I could not. Well it was a good thing since my mind felt calm.
