It's been about two weeks since the apocalypse started. We figured out more about the people who were infected by the disease and also more about each other. Tony and James are both a couple years older then me but they're pretty much the same age. I'm only twelve while James is seventeen and Tony is sixteen.

Tony's parents never came back to the house so we've been assuming the worst. I know what happened to my mom and James said that he had his own apartment when this all started. James and Tony seem like my older siblings now. It's crazy what can change in a matter of days.

Even though we're doing good on the front of getting to know each other we're running out of food and there's also a couple things that Tony and James have wanted to get. Like clothes, weapons, and more survival gear just in case we have to move out.

A couple of days ago we started planning out routes to grocery, weapons, and clothing stores as well as hospitals close by. So today is the day that we've picked to venture out into the unknown of a world that we used to know a lot about.

Tony and James debated on whether or not I should go with one of them or stay back at the house. Tony didn't want me to come but James made a point that it would be helpful because if they ever got hurt then I would need to know how to do things like this to survive. So I'm going with James since it was his idea to bring me in the first place.

Tony is going on the harder route though. She's going more towards the city which we're assuming is going to be worse since there would be more people in the city. James and I are going to smaller stores while Tony is going to try and find bigger stores just in case the smaller ones have already been cleared out.

So far we haven't seen anyone else around that hasn't been infected but we're assuming that there is still people out there besides us. Hopefully we can find more people so that we have a bigger group and supply runs like this won't be as hard. We still have a lot of room in the attic so we could fit more people in our group.

Right now though we're just trying to get by with just the three of us. I think it would be kind of hard to go out looking for people if they're all hiding from the infected. So it'll just be us for a while.

We're packing up to leave right now, Tony gave me the axe that she had found in the garage and she's keeping her bat with her as well as bringing some kitchen knives. James still has his gun but we were able to find another bat in the house when we went through it.

Tony had a couple of extra backpacks in her room and we found a smaller one in the back of her closet from when she was younger that I can use. We each have some food and two bottles of water along with a lighter. Just in case we get separated and need to make it on our own until we can regroup.

"Alright guys. I think we're ready to go." Tony says grabbing her backpack and bringing mine to me.

"You be safe out there and stay as close to James as you can, okay?" She says to me as she ruffles my hair.

"Will do, captain." I say with a tiny salute which makes her smile.

"James please look after her as well as yourself. I don't want to come back to an empty house." She says looking up at James.

"I'll do everything to keep us as safe as possible while we're out, same goes for you, be careful out there." he says back and she nods.

"Alright where's my good bye hug?" Tony says while putting her hands on her hips.

I run over and give her a small hug and say, "Be careful, I'll see you tonight."

Letting go I walk over to James and put my hands in the pockets of a hoodie that Tony had lent me since it was starting to get cooler out.
