Thankyou for Rejecting Me

Chapter 4

Ivory's POV:

I laid on my bed listening to my parents talk to different people on the phone, or should I say I heard my dad yell and my mom try to calm him down so it wouldn't upset me. God why did Charles have to cause a scene and risk exposure to the humans, if he had just let it go when I accepted his rejection and rejected him in return none of this would be happening. Now my embarrassment at being rejected has to be known amongst the entire werewolf nation, and when I didn't think it could get any worse I heard my brother's trucks tire screech to a halt in the driveway. Great just great now he can see just what a loser his little sister has become. I heard the front door open and slam into the wall in the foyer, the breeze brought up the scents of my brother Danny and Seth. Before I could stop myself I whispered Seth's name, I knew he heard it when foot steps started for the stairs. I needed to hide my face and neck, quickly looking around the room and sitting in front of the bay window was the darkest place in my room even with the lights out. I jumped up out of bed and sat down on the window seat when Seth opened my door causing light from the hallway to spill into the opposite side of the room. The bright light assaulted my sensitive eyes that are still healing from the beating Charles gave me this morning. Seth could you please close the door, the light hurts my eyes and head too much. I whispered past the lump in my throat, I didn't want him to see me.

Sure baby girl, now tell me what's wrong. Seth said as he quickly closed my bedroom door letting the darkness swallow us whole. I lowered my arm away from my face and turned to face him again.

What do you want to know Seth, I don't know what to really say. I was lying, I knew it and he did as well, I could see his face in the moon light but he couldn't see mine.

Well why don't you start from the beginning of your day and go from there shall we? He asked while sitting on my bed getting comfortable for a long story, yea so not happening.

If I just say this has been the worst birthday I have ever had will that be enough for you? I didn't want to tell him about what happened at school it's embarrassing enough that my parents are telling Danny right now.

Ivory you know me better than that, and if you don't tell me then Danny will when I ask him.

God he was right uh over protective males, I guess I can give him a watered down version of my day and I am not telling him about my dream no one will ever know about it. FINE I growled, I woke up to mom and dad singing to me, went to school found my mate got rejected came home the end, how was that?

Seth stiffened and leaned back a little, anger crossed his face but he schooled his features. I'm sorry Ivory are you okay?

Yea Seth I'll be fine don't worry about me I knew it would happen. I tried to sound reassuring but I knew it didn't work.

So then tell me what happened to make you scream so loud that Danny could hear you over the phone. He asked sounding just a little too gruff.

You really want me to say it out loud? I whispered. Just knowing what caused it made Nalla hurt even more didn't he know that?

Yes Ivory I need to know what happened to you. Seth leaned forward putting his elbows on his knees looking at me with pity. I don't need his pity or anyone else's, but I know that's what they are all feeling for me right now is pity. Don't they know I will be fine just fucking fine if they leave me alone so that Nalla can morn the loss of her mate.

If I tell you then will you all leave me alone I need peace and quiet for, I didn't get to finish my sentence since Danny threw my door open and causing me to hide my face again.

Seth's POV:

Listening to Ivory's poor excuse of an explanation of her day and what happened, Zee was angry that she didn't trust us with all of the details but he was elated that she had been rejected by her mate. Now that she was free she could be our chosen mate, I couldn't help but be happy about that idea as well but I also felt like a complete ass for being happy about it. Ivory was about to tell me what made her scream so loud that caused everyone's panic when I heard Danny's foot steps come to the door sending Ivory into hiding from the light again.
