They say I should be ashamed,
Hide my body in every way
'Boys will lose their minds,'
Every time I show mine

I lift up my arms,
And some stomach shows,
'Oops sorry,
I'm afraid you have to go home'

What's the big deal,
My skirt was an inch too short,
My collarbone was showing,
My chest started growing

What's the big deal,
It's just my body
Why should I hide it,
I don't mind it

Are you saying I'm a distraction
Or a part of me is open,
I need to cover up,
Am I broken

I feel disgusted,
Irritated,
Betrayed
How could you treat me this way

The boys are told,
'Keep your hands to yourself '
So why do they think that the girls need help

They know better,
I don't deserve this,
I'm not an issue,
Or do you think that I'm not perfect

I try my best to stay in check,
I don't need a check up,
You say,
'That's inappropriate'
I just ripped my jeans,
At my knees

I shouldn't have to hide,
You tell us to express ourselves,
But then we have to keep it hidden

What's the big deal,
Why don't they do it

Dye your hair,
I don't think so,
Wear a T-shirt,
Go get changed,
I don't get it,
What do you want

I just want to be free,
Leave me be,
I'm not your problem,
You're just too scared

Leave us be,
We don't like this
They can contain themselves,
Who said they're perverts

I'm just being myself,
I don't want to wear this,
Something different,
That's what we need,
Bring us change,
Don't make me change

Dress codes are dumb,
Take it away,
You're making us numb,
We won't play your games,
Anymore
