maison's pov
ɪ sᴀɴɢ sᴏғᴛʟʏto my baby cousins, trying to stay as still as possible since they were all sprawled out over me. they were all fast asleep, exhausted after a long day of surfing and running around.
"sing it again." rudy pleads softly. he's laying in his bed, phone propped up against a few pillows. it's incredibly dark in his room but a single lamp provides enough light for me to see his face, though skype is bringing the quality down a bit.
"it's a barbie song." i deadpan.
"i don't care." my boyfriend answers instantly.
chuckling, i clear my throat, glancing down at tristan and india who were both asleep on either one of my shoulders. sasha was in my lap, clinging to my legs, little arms wrapped around my knees as tight as they could. his feet were pressed against my stomach. i'm not quite sure why he chose to lay like this but he wasn't hurting me so i didn't move him.
seeing as they were all asleep, i started singing again, soft enough i wouldn't wake my cousins, but still within a range that rudy would be able to hear me. "where is the land i come from? who lives where i was born?"i start. this was my favorite movie growing up so i knew the song like the back of my hand. by the time i made it to the chorus, rudy's eyes had closed and his chest was moving up and down at a steady pace. "i need to know these answers, i need to find my way. seize my tomorrow. learn my yesterday."
smiling softly, i stretched to my computer, whispering a, "goodnight ru." he didn't answer so i ended the call, thinking of a time where we'd meet again, and when i could say those three words.
