I've known for a while I was going to die but it didn't occur to me until now.
It's an incurable disease.
I thought when I had finally wanted to live it would somehow go away.
But turns out it was the same disease in a different flavour.

Familiar lights fell over a wooden table that seemed miles away.
Tyson turned to his father
"Dad why do you care about me?" He asked.

James looked down at his son with a slight shock at the question.
"Because I do," He said.
"But why?" He repeated.
"Because I care about you."
"But I'm going to die?" Tyson said.
His father simply gave him a sad smile. "We all do Tyson."

Tyson found himself lost in the beach. Water passed over his toes as he took in the stars scattered across the sky in front of the endlessness of beyond.
He adjusted his hair and wondered. Why did he care what he looked like?
A tear fell down his cheek and joined the ocean.
