I open my eyes and feel warmth around my waist and ankle. I look down and see Shane is holding one of my legs again. I turn my head to look behind me and am met face to face with Lucas. I'm fully awake now and have no clue what to do.
(I can't get up like this.) I twist my leg trying to free my leg from Shane. I finally get my leg free and Shane rolls over. I try to get out of Lucas' grasp but his grip tightens. (Is he awake?) I turn to look at his face and it shows no sign of him being awake.
"Lucas! Lucas... Lucas! Let go of me!" I whisper.
(No reply...)
I start to wiggle around to try and wake him. He doesn't budge. (What do I do?) I tap his arms. I turn my body around and now I'm facing him.
(This is not any better!) I push at his chest. (Still not waking up? Fine, I guess I will shock him a little.) I put my finger on his arm and zap him. Lucas flinches and slowly opens his eyes. Lucas' eyes pop right open and his face turns red.
"U-umm, could you maybe let go of me?" I ask.
He realizes he's holding me and quickly let's go. I'm pretty sure right now we are probably both red as a tomato.
"S-sorry..." he says nervously.
"I-it's o-okay..." I say quietly. "Let's go get breakfast."
"S-sure," he says.
I grab two sharp sticks and give him one. We then head into the woods.
While we're walking it seems so awkward the air feels tense. We haven't talked or even looked at each other. I guess it's better to remain silent when we're hunting after all.
We've been walking around for a while and haven't found anything.
(This would be so much easier if I could use my powers, but that's obviously not gonna happen.)
I sniff the air to see if I can pick up a scent of an animal, but I don't pick up anything.
"We should head back," Lucas says.
"Yeah, I was just thinking the same thing," I say.
We head back, grab the net, and a few cocobowls. Then we head to the grove.
When we get there we automatically start to pick fruit. We load all the fruit into the net and wrap it up. We fill up 9 cocobowls with water, too.
When I start to lift up the fruit Lucas comes over and takes it from me. "I got it. This is heavy, so I'll carry it," he says.
I don't argue and let him walk off with it.
I grab a cocobowl and stack it on top of my head. I get 3 along each arm, kinda like how a waitress carries out the dinner plates if there's more than two, then two in each hand.
Again this was a part of my princess training. I had to have perfect balance. Which comes in handy sometimes because there was no way I was gonna take two trips.
I hurry to catch up with Lucas and we walk back to the camp.
Right when we get to the camp I start dicing up the fruit. I place an even amount of every fruit in 9 cocobowls.
I take two fruit and two waters, and sit next to Lucas on the same log from last time.
I hand him the fruit and water.
"Thanks," Lucas says.
"You know what we need?" I ask popping a piece of fruit in my mouth.
"What?" he asks.
