You lay in your hospital bed, trying not to crease the smooth, ironed surface of the clean, white, linen sheets. Not that you had to try extremely hard. You didn't really feel like moving much anyways.
Your eyes traveled from your bed, around the empty room. It was just you and the other beds of endless white, all having lost their patients, and reminding you that you didn't have long to last.
Your eyes finally settled on the curtainless window. As if your relm of metal hospital beds wasn't enough white, the world outside was covered in the blanket of winter snow. "Ironic isn't it," you mused in your thick british accent, "that the cold air of winter is drier than the warm air of spring or summer considering the water that snow consists of?" Noone answered you of course, since you were alone. But your solitude didn't last long.
You closed your eyes for a quick nap but then a whirring noise filled your ears. You covered them as the sound intensified, pulsing through your very core. Though the high volume slightly hurt your ears, you smiled, since you knew what it meant.
A bright, orange light flashed directly infront of you, causing you to shut your eyes quickly. When the warm light slowly faded away and the loud noise was nothing but a ringing in your ears, you finally opened your eyes. What you saw made your whole mood change in a flash from despondent, to joyous.
"TAEHYUN!!!" You squealed, sitting up quickly. The action caused you to throw yourself forward in a coughing fit. Taehyun quickly sat next to you and held your head as he dabbed away the small trickle of blood that ran out from your lips. You smiled weakly at him, staring into his beautiful eyes. "I am terribly sorrowful thaf you had to see me in such a condition," you whispered, your voice raspy.
"Oh, _______-ah," he spoke gently, holding your head gently but protectively against his chest. "I'm sorry I couldn't be here sooner. I should've taken you out of that cotton factory before you got cotton cough."
"It is not your doing Taehyun. It is but the nature of the field of work I decided to take upon myself." You smiled once again at the strange, yet lovely boy infront of you.
He claimed that he came from the future, though how that was possible, you had no idea. He defineately looked, acted, and dressed quite differently than any other man you knew, and his way of coming to you was odd. You had no way of understanding the whirring noise or the bright flash of light. But you didn't need to. You trusted Taehyun so much no, after all the visits he made to you. He was the one who carried your broken body into the woods after your parents died in a house fire. He was the one who nursed you back to health and brought you to an orphanage. He was the one who would visit you on your birthday and christmas each year. And every year you grew, and yet he didn't. You grew to love him, but did he love you?
Taehyun smiled back down at you and gently kissed your forehead. "I'm taking you with me," he stated bluntly.
You gasped. "With you? To the future? Taehyun, you cannot possibly be serious!"
"I'm completely serious!"
"H-how?"
"Leave that to me. Will you come?"
"But I am ill...."
"I'm taking you there so you can heal. You can't heal here."
"And then you will bring me back?"
"Well actually..." Taehyun looked down. "I was kinda hoping you would stay with me." He bit his lip and looked up at you. "Like, forever?"
"As you aquaintence?"
"As my wife."
You blushed and looked away, surprised by his sudden confession. Slowly, you found yourself nodding. "I think I shall sir Taehyun."
"Really?" He seemed extremely excited, like the childish man she loved.
"Yes. Very much really."
"Oh thank you so much _______! You just made me the happiest man in all eternity!" He hugges you tightly and pressed his lips firmly against your own. You closed your eyes in pure ectasy, finally tasting his lips for the first time. When you opened our eyes, you were no longer in the hospital room back in 19th century Boston, Massachsetts.
You hung suspended in Taehyun's arms, holding you protectively. A warm, mosit, sea breeze blew across your face as the salty air stung your cracked lips. Your lungs rejoiced as they filled with the healthy air they had been craving. You smiled widely at Taehyun, already feeling ten times better. "Where are we?"
"21st century South Korea. Jeju Island."
You had no idea where or what South Korea was, but as you turned your head to look at the blue, crystal clear ocean, you didn't care. It was simply breathtaking. "Thank you," you whispered again.
"Anything for my princess." And with that, he captured your lips once again in his, with a sweet kiss.
