Your head shot up from the book that you were reading. You looked around, only to notice a young boy, maybe only a couple years older than you, slowly lowering the camera from his face.
He was very handsome. And he was blushing uncontrolably. "Sorry," he apologized. "You were just so cute, that I had to take a picture." He looked away, avoiding eye contact with you.
You giggled. "That's okay. Would you like me to pose now?"
The boy looked at you and nodded with excitement. You giggled again and struck a cute pose as he quickly took the picture. "What's your name?" you asked inoccently.
"Jongdae. And yours?"
"______."
"I like that name," Jongdae said.
"I like your name too." You both ended up giggling and blushing at eachother. It was the start of a great friendship.
*End flashback*
Chen ran down the hallway, his feet pounding against the wood floor. You ran after him, trying to calm him down. "I'm sorry! I'm so sorry Chen! Can't you forgive me?"
Instead of answering, he slammed your bedroom door in your face. "Jongdae!" you sobbed as you pounded on the door. But the door wouldn't budge.
Finally, you sat on the floor, you back to the door. You pulled your knees to your chest and rested your tired head on them. "Why did he have to explode like that?" you thought. "What happened to my happy Jongdae?"
*flashback*
"Happy birthday!" Jongdae said cheerfully.
You smiled and took the present from him. It was a small, very small, box, wrapped neatly with your favorite wrapping paper. "Oh Jongdae, you shouldn't have!"
"Anything for my jagiya!" He smiled that amazing smile that made you melt every time.
You and Jongdae had been dating for almost a year now, so this was the first birthday you got to spend with him.
You slowly took off the wrapping paper to reveal a black, velvet box. With trembling fingers, you slowly lifted the lid. But instead of finding a ring like you expected, there was only a small piece of folded paper.
Frowning, you unfolded the paper. "U O ME!" it said, with a weird smiley face picture added to it.
"What?" you said, lightly punching Jongdae's shoulder.
"Remember when I payed for your parking ticket?" Jongdae asked, trying not to laugh. "Well, you owe me for that!"
"Ya! But it's my birthday!"
"But I still need my payment."
You placed your finger on your chin and made a thoughtful expression. "Will this do?" you asked before quickly pecking his lips.
Jongdae smiled. "It's perfect." Then he kissed you again. And it was the best kiss ever.
*End flashback*
When you woke up, it was the middle of the night. Chen had yet to come out of your room. Facing the door, you lightly knocked. "Chen? Jagiya?" You called softly.
There was no response. "Chen?"
"Leave me alone!" he snapped.
By the sound of his voice, you could tell that he had been crying. "Chen. Can't we talk this over? Please don't be angry with me."
"How could I not be angry?" he roared. You winced, even though you were on the other side of the door. "You cheated _____. And you expected me not to be angry?"
"I didn't mean to Chen."
"You didn't mean to? How do you mess up on something like that?"
"I don't see why your making it a big deal!"
"BECAUSE THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME IT HAS HAPPENED!" Chen broke down into sobs and you sighed.
"Please Chen, just let me in. We can talk this over and come up with a resolution. I love you."
You were only answered by his sobs. You had only ever heard him cry once before. A memory that you never wanted to forget.
*flashback*
You screamed, your knuckles turning white as you squeezed Jongdae's hand. He winced in pain. "Come on _____-ah!" he encouraged you. "You can do this! You're strong!"
You screamed again through gritted teeth. The pain was indescribable. Sweat poured down your forehead and blurred your vision as it went into your eyes. You were in so much pain and so focused, that you didn't even blink.
"PUSH!" the doctor yelled again.
You inhaled deeply and held your breath as you pushed.
Finally, after thirteen hours of hard labor, the baby's cries pirced the air. The doctor handed the baby to a nurse and she began to clean it off.
Gasping for breath you asked, "Is it a boy or girl?" You looked up to see tears of happiness starting to form in Jongdae's eyes.
Without looking away from the baby, he said, "A boy." You smiled as he rubbed your hand with his thumb. The both of you cried when you held the baby.
*End flashback*
"Chen! Chen! Please come out! You're starting to scare Youngdae!"
The five year old looked at you with round eyes that looked exactly like his father's.
"I don't care," Chen huffed from the other side of the door.
You sighed again and rubbed your temple.
"You're both being so childish," Youngdae stated.
The door flew open and you staggered backward, Chen's death glare causing you to tremble. "What did you say?" he hissed.
"That you're being childish," your son answered, seeming to fear nothing.
"Me? Childish? Your mother was the one that cheated!"
"I didn't mean to!" you argued.
"Yeah, she cheated," Youngdae said. "ON MONOPOLY!!!"
You, realizing how silly the whole thing was, as displayed by the child, covered your mouth, trying not to laugh.
"Yeah, well, she shot me with a draw four in UNO the other day too," Chen pouted.
You and Youngdae burst out laughing. "Wow can you hold a grudge!" You said between giggles. "That was like, seven months ago."
"In front of my mom!" You laughed again at his angry expression. Slowly, a smile began to lift the corners of his mouth. He chuckled and walked over to you, embracing you in his strong arms. "I'm sorry," he said. "I was being foolish. Can you forgive me?"
You laughed and hugged him back. "Of course pabo!"
"You to are impossible," Youngdae stated before walking away.
You and Chen looked at eachother and laughed.
