Annabelle's POV
I was sitting on Emily's bed while she was hanging pictures of us around her new room.
We had separate rooms but thankfully they were next each other. The rooms were big, so were the private bathrooms connected to them. I was glad that we didn't have to share the bathrooms, I didn't want to wander around the school with my morning breath and a bird nest on my head everyday.
"Do you think we're going to be able to make new friends Belle ? People didn't seem to be very welcoming".
"Well, I hope it's not going to be only the two of us, or else I will not survive colleg-" I couldn't finish my sentence when a fluffy pillow landed right on my face.
"Shut up !" You know how much of a wonderful person I am. Always the one with wise advises and definitely the most amazing cook, the only one able to make your favorite chocolate cakes".
"You have a point". I replied to her with a bright smile.
While my best friend was opening her last box, someone knocked at the door. I stood up from the bed and we both went to the door.
As Emily opened it, a redheaded girl with a bunch of papers in her hands and a guy at her sides were standing.
"Hello my name is Ophelia and this is James, my best friend". The girl motioned to the shy guy standing next to her. He was kind of cute, with brown hair and green eyes, but not my type, more Emily's.
"Hi, I'm Emily and this is Annabelle" replied Emily with a bright smile.
"Oh you have lovely names ! So, James and I learned about your arrival and thought it might be nice to introduce ourselves. We also prepared for you a map of the school so you won't be lost, even if we saw principal Jones showing you around the place. May we enter and chat a bit so we get to know each other ?"
2 hours later...
The four of us had been chatting for a while now and it was time for dinner.
James and Ophelia had left for their rooms and we planned to meet in the dining hall a few minutes later.
We can say that we had bonded pretty well.
Ophelia was a charming girl, sociable and really talkative. She came from a rich family, just like Emily, and had many brothers and sisters, she was the eldest. You could tell that she was missing her family a lot, but her parents wanted the best for her, a highly reputed and secured school.
James, on the contrary, was more reserved. His parents were extremely busy with their jobs and never really took care of him. He had been raised by his grand aunt, Margaret or "Mags" as he calls her. The old lady was everything to him. She played the role of a parent, a best friend, a confident and he was really attached to her. However, because of her grand age, Margaret wasn't able to take care of him anymore, as a mother would do. Other than that, now it was time for James to leave the nest and fly with his own wings. He had to live his life as a young man now and discover the world by his own.
Ophelia enjoyed telling us the way she and James met, on their first day at the Golden School. As organized as she was, the redheaded girl had everything thoroughly prepared. She had asked the administration for a map of the school a week before entering the place, so she would have time to memorize the localization of the rooms, in a way that allowed her to not be lost on her first day.
While entering the hallway, she had found a very dumbfounded James. He was completely lost, unaware of which direction he was supposed to go in. The best of this was that he was wearing a suit ! I still remember Emily's face after Ophelia told us this, while wiping away tears of laugh from her eyes. Poor James, he thought that it was the way he was supposed to be clothed, being a student of a university of such importance. The fact that his parents were always wearing formal clothes wasn't helping either.
