the next morning was a saturday.

yunji was faced with the decision of going to dae cafe, or the noonchi bookstore. there was pros and cons to both places, mainly for the bookstore.

one was that she could see mihi— which is fine of course. it's not like she's scared of her or something. but, yunji recently learned that she has a big sense of pride and is stubborn.

does she want to go? no.

will she go to be a little pain in the ass to mihi? yes.

the way to the shop was the same as always: crowded. yunji doesn't exactly have claustrophobia, but, she is scared of people. no exact reason why, only that she somehow always manages to embarrass herself. exhibit a: her first interaction with seonghwa, if you would even call it that.

exibit b is the time in eighth grade when she threw up on her crush during the school photo of her entire school, but we don't speak of that incident..

she walked in and was hit with a cool breeze as the smell of new books surrounds her.

a quick glance at the cashiers told her that mihi wasn't working at the moment.

how sad...

she wandered a bit to look at different kinds of books.

"hi, how are you?" a worker asked. when yunji turned around, she saw this stunning girl in front of her.

the girl's name tag read: jiyeon. jiyeon had vibrant pink hair that complemented her skin. her nose had a septum and two studs on each side, along with an eyebrow slit and winged eyeliner that made her eyes pop.

let's just say that yunji couldn't keep her eyes off her.

"uh, no- i'm- im just looking, thanks."

"well, if you need anything, don't be afraid to ask."

she walked away from yunji, but sure enough, yunji was still stealing glances at her. how on earth is she supposed to feel good about herself when girls like that exist?

even though she didn't know her, she could tell she had her life put together. how, you may ask? her outfit. you can tell a lot by how someone dresses. like if they go out in their pajamas, yunji assumes they're lazy and if you go out in a good ass outfit, she's gonna think you have some bright plans.

yunji, herself, was wearing some beige mom jeans, a white, slightly cropped, t-shirt, with a black belt. but, all of that was covered by seonghwa's big hoodie.

in a way, it felt wrong to wear his hoodie out, but i mean, he did give it to her. if she wears it too much it'll make her look obsessed and if she wears it too little, she'll seem ungrateful. none of those things are what she wants.

after the instagram incident, she was getting mixed signals on whether it was a good idea to see him. it was embarrassing and plus she didn't forget about that girl she saw him with.

yunji though to herself, i swear if she ends up being his sister, in the name of bruno mars, i'm going to throw my head on a plane.

she remembered a time when her therapist told her to brach out. she would say, "you can't expect  people to come up to you first. what's interesting and eye catching about you, huh? nothing. and for now, that's fine. because once you explore and put yourself out there, you'll find that one thing that makes people want to be your friend, even without doing anything." needless to say, those words really suck with her.

you can do it, yunji told herself.

with one foot in front of the other she went to the coffee shop, not forgetting to take her hoodie off along the way and stuff it in her bag.
