"Please say this again!" my mother shouted at the doctor, who, I could see, really feared her.

I wonder why.

"Miss Han as I s-said your son can't go in his wolf form.... and he properly won't get the ability to smell the scent of his mate." The doctor mumbled out, probably to scared to face me or my mother.

"Mommy what does this mean? What's a mate and what scent?" I asked her. She didn't answer me.

She was still arguing with the poor doctor about this thing for ages, and it seemed like she was getting really heated. I didn't like it when she used that loud tone.

But was it really that bad? I mean I still can live, right? Is this really that important?

Is it?

A long rant later, she finally stopped screaming at the doctor (who looked quite shaken up), grabbed my wrist, and took me out of his place.

"Mommy, what is wrong or bad that you're this angry?" I asked her, but she just said that she would tell me later.

I held her to it.

I really did.

But I kept my mouth shut, for her sake. I didn't want to fuse her anger.

So, I stopped questioning it, and quietly walked behind her as we headed home.

We finally reached our house, which, compared to others, was really, REALLY, big.

The door opened and my big brother walked out, flashing his cute puppy smile.

"Welcome home Mom and little one." my older brother happily greeted us, cheerfully hugging both me and our mom.

When we walked into the living room, my mother's demeanor immediately changed, and this is when she told me to sit down.

That's when she told me what was wrong.

Third Person POV

"So, darling, do you remember what the Doc said today?" Mija asked her son, who hummed in response. He really did.

The woman's heart broke at the thought that one of her beloved babies could never find the one he belongs to.

It was a sorrow for a mother.

Blinking back tears, she continued, for his sake. He deserved to know. "So, baby, let me tell you something now."

Jisung nodded, worriedly looking at his mother who wore a sad expression.

"It's very important..."

Jisung nodded again, growing ever-worried by the passing seconds.

"Everyone has a mate from the day on he or she is born. At the age of 18 wolves get the ability to recognize a special scent which can detect that a certain person is your mate. This is the person that  will love you and makes you happy for the rest of you live." Mija started, smiling at her adorable 5 year-old son.

She had found her mate, but he had left her for another woman.
Even if these memories hurt, she still enjoyed every moment with her ex-husband.

Jisung clapped. "Wow scent like what? Like...uh...what? the 5 years old asked.

"So, as an example, my baby, you smell like cheesecake" Mija giggled out.

The younger boy looked quite shocked.

"Does that mean I'm a cheesecake? That sounds fun"

She laughed. "Darling, no. it's just your scent. Like mine is biscuits."
