I am awoken to frantic knocking at my door when Lavina bursts in telling me it's gonna be a big big day. I stare at her with no expression and then leaves. I get up and see Tanya has laid out my training uniform. It was a black shirt and trousers on the shoulders was the number seven. I put it on and then walk into the dinning area. I yawn and sit down. I see Tristan is wearing the exact same thing as me. I sit down and serve myself some eggs, ham, and rolls, and a glass of Apple juice.
"Today you guys should try to make some allies they will be handy in the arena." Blight says I look up
"How can we even trust one another we're supposed to each other ." I argue
" it's not about trust, Cassie. " he says
"Then what's it about." I slam my fork on the plate.
" staying alive" Johanna says with a serious face I mumble fine and eat the rest of my eggs. After that it was training time Tristan and I go in the elevator down to the training centre. There were rows of weapons and survival stations. It was too much to take in. Once everybody arrived the training woman Atala explained everything. She said that we were not aloud to fight with the other tributes. Then after she explained everything we could do what we wanted. If course the careers went to the weapon training first. I wanted to find the district nine girl. I was supposed to find allies right? I eventually found her at the knot tying station. Her hair was in two buns instead of one and she has the same uniform as me but in her shoulders was a nine. I went over to her and sat next to her. She seemed startled. I smiled at her
"Hi!" I said
" hi" she said nervously I could see she was struggling with tying a knot
"Here do you want me to help you with that?" I was trying to show her that I was nice and looked at me cautiously first then accepted. She was surprised at how fast I could tie it. she looked in amaze at how fast I could do it.
"How did you do that so fast?" She asks I smile
" well back home we have tons of trees we usually climb them and have to secure are selfs to them so we don't fall out. " I say
"Ahhhh." She says I was really nervous to ask if she wanted to be allies but I did.
" Do you maybe wanna be allies..? " I ask nervously
"Really you want me as an ally?" She asks in amazement
" Yea you seem really nice and we're almost the same age! " I say
"How old are you?" She asks
"Thirteen and I know your twelve." I say I really like her
" Oh wow and yes I want to ally with you. " she smiled showing her teeth.
"I'm Cassidy but you can call me Cassie." I say
" Aleece. " she says wow what a pretty name she seemed like a really nice girl and I didn't want to watch her die. I told myself that I would try to protect her. Aleece looked in the distance, I looked at her then followed her eyes to wear she was looking at. It was the careers they were looking at us snickering. Aleece looked scared.
"We should just ignore them then they won't bother us." I tried to whisper but I think they heard. Then the girl from two came up to us. I think she was about seventeen. She grabbed my sleeve.
" You two weak little girls don't stand a chance. " she laughed then released me and walked away. Then the whole career pack walked away. I looked at Aleece she looked sad.
"Were gonna be ok" I said and have a small smile
over the next few days I practiced throwing an axe I was pretty good at it I got most of them in the chest I was very proud of myself and so was Aleece. I asked her what her skill was a slingshot. Pretty good. I kept eyeing the boy from six with his wavy blonde hair and his blue eyes. One day he noticed me looking at him and I looked away embarrassed. Soon it would be time for are assessment with the gamemakers to show off are skill. Boy was I nervous!
