Dovie
I haven't felt pain like this in my entire life and never will I ever wish this upon anyone. The past two weeks were filled with pain, painkillers, frequent doctor visits, and mostly being by myself.
Kol, Niti, Travis, Zoe, and Tanner would come visit me after school everyday for the past two weeks. Kol, on the other hand, wouldn't leave my side until the next morning when he had to go to school.
He would stay back to read to me, tell me what was happening in school, what we were learning, any new gossip, but mostly he would stay so I didn't feel alone.
I was alone for most of the day and I was okay with that because I'd rather my friends and Kol stay at school and learn. Not that much learning would be happening without me, but they were all trying their best without me.
"I swear to God, the doctor better release you soon. We really need you with us back in school, I'm gonna fail calculus if you don't come back," Zoe started complaining as they started feasting on their food.
Zoe and Travis sat on the couch to the left whereas Tanner and Niti sat on the couch to the right. On the other hand, Kol sat himself right beside me in a chair and he was looking at me with unknown expressions.
"She's right, I'm not even doing well in chem," Travis replied back.
"Hey, chem is not that hard and i try my best to make it easy for you guys," Tanner stated as he stuffed his mouth with more food.
"Chemistry just sucks," Travis said and Tanner's eyes widened. "No offense to you or your teaching, it's just not for me."
"I feel that," Niti also stated and Tanner's eyes widened even more.
"You too?" He scoffed in disbelief.
"Babe, I love you and your passion for teaching chemistry, but that class sucks the living crap out of me. I would choose AP bio over AP chem any day."
Tanner looked sad after Niti had said what she did and she gave him a quick kiss. "I'm sorry but that's the truth."
"You know what Dovie, you really need to come back soon. These idiots are doing terrible in my class and it has only been a month. I'm giving out extra credit and they are not willing to do it either," Tanner shook his head in disappointment.
"What? Why?" I asked, shook myself.
"Have you seen the extra credit?" Zoe scoffed. "We have to write a five page paper on why chemistry is so important and how it's used in our daily lives."
"And? It's not that hard," I shrugged.
"You got me fucked up if you think I'm gonna write a five page paper and that too about chemistry," Travis scoffed.
"Yeah they are idiots, Tanner."
"I'm telling you. You know I don't choose the extra credit right? And we're not even supposed to give out extra credit, but i pity you guys and you need to pass my class."
"Dovie please come back."
I smiled. "I would if I could. They just made me stay an extra week, but I am supposed to be released today. I'm sure mom and dad are signing my discharge papers right now and I will be returning back to school... in crutches."
Kol softly took my hand in his and pulled it up to his lips, planting a soft kiss on it. "It's okay because you're okay. Crutches are only here for a while. Look at the bigger picture, you get to get out of here and spend even more time with us at school."
I smile at his statement which also brings a smile on his beautiful face. "I don't know what I would do without you."
"You never have to find out since I'm not going anywhere," Kol smiled as my parents walked into the room with Dr. Rai.
