Kol

"You look hot in crutches babe," I winked at Dove as she was trying her best to walk in crutches.

I couldn't believe that I almost lost her.

I blamed myself for the accident because if I was with her then maybe I could have prevented it altogether.

Maybe she wouldn't have been in so much pain.

Maybe it would've been me.

I would have happily taken her place, but it's not possible.

"Kol?" Dove softly touched my arm with a small smile. "Are you okay?"

"Yes, perfect," I smiled at her and hung her backpack on my shoulder as we walked inside the school together.

As we were walking, I turned quietly to look at her. She looked mesmerizing as the smile on her face widened and I looked away, realizing that she knew I was looking at her.

"You can look, I don't mind," she snickered.

"I would love to do just that, but we don't want you being late for your first day of school in weeks, do we?" I smiled and flung open the door to our chemistry class and all the heads turned in our direction.

I saw Dove shifting in her position uncomfortably whereas I just stared at her. Slowly i placed my hand on her back and whispered, "hey, it'll all be fine. They have nothing better to do than to stare at my beautiful girlfriend."

"It's making me uncomfortable," she whispered softly.

I turned to the entire class and cleared my throat. "I know my girl is gorgeous but you guys gotta stop with the staring, you're making her uncomfortable."

Just as the words shot out of my mouth, everyone looked away and I even saw some people smile because what of what I just announced.

"Kol," dove whispered with her eyes widened.

"What happened?" I turned to her with concern.

She shook her head. "You didn't have to do that."

"Well, yes of course I did. I can't have other people ogling at you when it makes you uncomfortable," I answered and a smile appeared on her beautiful face. "Only I can."

We walked to her usual seat beside me and she slowly sat down on the desk as Zoe, Travis, and Niti walked in together. They screeched and hugged Dove as they also took their respected seats around us.

"I can't believe that you're finally back," Niti sighed deeply.

"These five weeks without you have been torture," Zoe smiled.

Travis nodded along. "Honestly. It felt like a piece of us was missing."

"I felt like that every single day," I muttered softly and she turned to me.

"I'm not going anywhere now so you don't have to feel like that," Dove squeezed my hand softly then she turned to them to talk some more and I just stared at her beautiful smile. Her eyes always light up when she talked to them or me. She never realizes that but I notice it every single time.

I don't know what I did to deserve her.

I never had a good life to begin with; parents who never gave a single crap about me, working my ass off since i was sixteen to pay for myself, and taking care of my younger sister by myself. Life has never been easy for me.

She made me realize that life is more than just surviving, it's about living every day to the fullest.

Before her, I had been surviving every single day and not living it. Not living and loving life as she does.
