"Can I open my eyes now?" I asked, holding onto the blindfold.
"No," I heard Kol shout from the house.
I stood a couple steps away from the door, blindfolded.
He put the blindfold on me when we reached home and told me not to take it off. That just made me want to take it off even more. But, I obliged and stayed behind the door.
I waited for him to finish whatever he was doing, but I'd be lying if I didn't say that I was thrilled. He told me in class that he had planned something for me and I couldn't wait to see it.
"Now?" I asked, waiting impatiently.
"One moment," I heard soft thudding and his voice became clearer as he walked towards me. I felt his hand on my lower back as he led me to the door. "Okay, take it off in one... two... and three."
Slowly, I took the blindfold off and found him standing beside me with a goofy grin on his face. He gestured at the entrance and I looked to find the most amazing setup.
The floor had rose petals spread on them from the door to the table for two which had a candle in the middle. The flowers shaped like a heart surrounding the table.
I could feel tears brewing in my eyes at how sweet this was.
How sweet he was.
"Kol, I- I..." I couldn't find the right words to describe what I was feeling.
"Do you like it?" He asked sweetly, extending his arm out for me to take. "Does it impress you?"
I took his hand as we made our way through the rose petals to the table. He pulled a chair for me and I sat down as he sat down in the other chair. "Yes. I love it, Kol, thank you so much. No one has ever done something like this for me, ever."
"Well, you're special so you deserve to be welcomed home in a special way," he winked, taking my forearm and gently planting a kiss onto back of my hand.
"I-I don't have anything for you," I frowned because I didn't bring him a gift. "I-I didn't know that we had to and I—"
"—hey, I don't want anything when I already have you," he smiled pouring us water in a glass.
"So, is this our first official date?" I asked and he nodded with a smile. "Well, it's the best one that I've ever been on."
He scratched the back of his neck, nervously. "It's the only one that I've ever been on."
"What?" Shocked, I gasped. "Really?"
"Yeah," he replies back, breathing out. "I never really had a girlfriend, just random hookups. They never meant anything, girls never meant anything... until you."
I smiled. "Kol, is this a little weird for you?"
He nodded. "Who did you go to for help?"
He tried looking away, but I caught his eye. "Travis and Tanner. They are quite the romantics when it comes to dates and other romantic things."
"They know?"
He shook his head. "They know it's with someone. They don't know it's you. We'll wait until you want to be official-official. I am a patient man, Dove, just don't make me wait for far too long. You know how hard it was not being able to kiss your smart-ass when you were answering all those chemistry questions right?"
"And you know how hard it was not being able to kiss your dramatic-ass in theatre while you were acting out a scene?"
Kol's eyes widened. "Damn, I'm already turning you bad."
