Chapter Six

Just as I was about to tell Edmund how I got here, I get interrupted by the dark haired boy.
"Edmund, she knows about us!"
Edmund's face changed.
"It would be good if you didn't interrupt us, John." He seethed.
John took a step back.
"Okay, Amy, you and I are going to talk outside. And you lot are going to stay here and not make a sound. Am I clear?"
Everyone nodded.
"Okay, good. Amy, follow me." Edmund says as he walks out of the room.

I follow him down a dark tunnel until suddenly he stops.
"Oomph." I say as I bang into him. "I'm sorry." I apologise.
He laughed his deep rich laugh. "It's fine. Okay, let's get down to business. How did you find this place?"
"Well, earlier tonight I heard sounds of laughter echoing down the corridor of my house so I decided to look out the window. I saw Daniel and some boys walking down the driveway and I followed them."
Edmund stopped me. "Why did you follow them?"
"I thought that they might be doing drugs." I say quietly.

He nods his head. "Okay. You may continue."
"As I said, I was following them and I saw them moving a gravestone and head down a dark stairway. At one point I was nearly caught but I hid until the last person had gone down the dark staircase. I followed them down and listened from behind the door until I tripped and fell into the room. They all stared at me at talked about eating me and drinking my blood. Then Daniel beat up the guy who suggested that they beat me up. And now I'm talking to you." I finish and take a deep breath.

Edmund was silent for a moment.
"Do you know what we are." He finally asked.
His question surprised me.
"Well, I have a suspicion that I'm not quite ready to share." I say.
"Okay." He says. "I'm going to let you go, but promise me that you won't tell anyone about tonight."
"I promise." I say, taking his hands.
They were ice cold.
He pulls his hands out if my grip and says, "You may leave."
"Sure. Well, bye!" I wave as I make my way through the dark corridor and back to the staircase.

As I emerge into the cool night air, I think about what just happened. There was no denying it.
They were vampires.
